Chapter 1: Thank you, Stefan
Stefan hunted in the woods looking for a deer to drink from. He spotted one and ran after it. The deer's ear twitched and it ran the opposite direction of the Vampire running after it. The deer wished it was faster, but it wasn't. Stefan caught the deer in an instant and bit into it. He let his fangs sink into the deer's flesh as the blood traveled into his mouth. Stefan stopped when the animal was sucked dry. He wiped his chin of blood and licked his lips.
He looked around at his surrounding to see he was in the woods near the park. He walked out the woods and enter the park. As he entered the park, he heard slight whimpering. He walked over to where the noise was coming from. There was a girl who looked like Elena, but with curly hair.
-Katherine- Stefan whispered.
She was being surrounded by a bunch of hybrids. Not knowing what came over him, he walked closer without any cautions. There were about 15 Hybrids. They all belonged to Klaus, of course. Katherine could have taken all of them if they were vampires. She couldn't since they were hybrids because with one bite from any of them, she would become ill and die. She probably didn't want to take any changes.
Stefan pushed through the crowd of hybrids, grabbed Katherine; one hand on the back of her waist and the other holding her hand; and pulled her out unharmed. Katherine looked astonished and all hybrids except 1 looked mad.
-Hey! We were going to kill her!- 1 of the hybrids exclaimed.
-Well, I suggest you back off!- Stefan exclaimed back.
Katherine looked surprised by Stefan's outburst. He was always in control of his emotions, no matter what happened. She never knew he would break like that.
-Guys, chill! It's Stefan Salvatore. We have strict orders from Klaus to keep him and whomever he wished alive!- A familiar voice said.
The group of hybrids split into 2 and showed a person. Not just any person, but Tyler Lockwood. The group dismissed, except for Tyler.
-Thanks Tyler.- Stefan responded.
-It's no problem. I really wanted to kill her.- He said.
-I think we all do, so don't worry about it.- Stefan reassured.
-Tell Caroline that I'll see her at school!- Tyler threw over his shoulder as he ran away with the pack of hybrids following behind.
Stefan watched as the hybrids left and turned to face Katherine. She had a look of pure confusion on her face. He started off with a hug. He embraced her with a hug. For what reason? He didn't know. She hugged me back almost immediately.
-I'm glad you're okay, Katherine.- He told her truthfully.
-Thank you for saving me, Stefan.- Katherine said truthfully. She was still never able to get the 3 special words out. Never could she say it. Katherine quietly sighed, her face into Stefan's chest. They both enjoyed every moment of the lasting hug.
