Hi everyone, just wanted to let those who follow me and my story All of Me know that I haven't forgotten about it and that I am working on it, but it's going to take some time to get sorted and posted due to issues at home. I am able to write this chapter, and those to come as they don't take up much of my time whereas a chapter for All of Me takes up much more and I currently don't have that time spare right now. I hope you understand?
Anyway, here's the first chapter for you :) please enjoy and remember to let me know what you think? It'll be much appreciated.
Summer 1957.
"Come in." Called the young woman as she signed her name on the letter she had been writing to a friend. Hearing the door opening, she looked up and watched as one of the palace maids entered and closed the door behind her.
"Forgive me for the intrusion, ma'am," said the maid as she turned and looked across the room at the young woman, "but the Queen wishes to see you down in her office."
"Now?" She asked while replacing the pen lid and placed it down on the desk beside the letter.
"Yes, ma'am," nodded the maid.
"Alright," smiled the younger woman and she stood to her feet, "thank you for letting me know."
Making her way down to her future mother in laws office a million thoughts crossed her mind. In just two short weeks she would be marrying into the genovian royal family and there was still so much to do before then. Maybe thats why the Queen sent for her she wondered, to go over one or two details before the King and her soon to be husband, Prince Rupert, return home from their meeting in Paris.
Reaching the Queen's office door moments later, she knocked and waited anxiously for her command.
"Come," called the Queen as she stood from the sofa.
"You sent for me, Your Majesty?" Said the younger lady as she entered the room and closed the door behind her.
"Yes, Clarisse darling, I did," smiled Queen Beatrice as she extended her arm towards her future daughter in law. "Thank you for coming so quickly, I wanted you to meet someone," she said and took both of her hands in hers, "do you remember a while back we all sat down and discussed your safety once you marry Rupert?"
"Yes, I do," nodded the younger woman.
"Well, I would like you to meet the man who will be your personal bodyguard," smiled Queen Beatrice while extending her arm towards the door as her own bodyguard opened it, "meet Mr Elizondo."
Turning, Clarisse watched as a tall, handsome man approached her and the Queen.
"Good afternoon, Your Majesty," he smiled and kissed the back of the Queen's hand before turning to the future Princess. "And to you too, Your Highness," he said in a soft, gentle voice and kissed the back of her hand.
"It's nice to meet you, Mr Elizondo," Clarisse smiled as he raised his head and their eyes met.
"Oh, please," he said, mesmerized by her beautiful blue eyes and captivating smile, "call me Joseph."
"Alright, well then, it's lovely to meet you, Joseph," Clarisse smiled as she clasped her hands together in front of her and watched as he finally looked away and at the Queen.
Clearing her throat, Queen Beatrice smiled. "He, excuse me, Mr Elizondo, will be around the palace from now on and will officially become your guard the day you and Rupert marry. But at some point, before the big day preferably, I would like for you both to sit and talk. You know," she said, waving her hand in front of her, "to get better acquainted, and such."
"Ok, well I have some free time now, if you do too?" Clarisse asked as she looked from her future mother in law to the man who will become her bodyguard, "we could take a walk in the gardens?"
"I do," he nodded, "and that would be lovely."
"That's perfect," exclaimed the Queen as both Clarisse and her bodyguard looked at her. "Something you will learn quite quickly, Mr Elizondo, is that my darling soon to be daughter in law loves to take a walk, especially through the rose gardens."
"Oh I do," smiled Clarisse as she looked back at the guard.
"Me too," Joseph smiled and quickly corrected himself, "walking I mean, I like to take walks too, not walking through the gardens as I haven't experienced that walk yet." He said and watched as the young woman giggled.
"Shall we then, I could show you round?" She smiled and gestured towards the door.
"I would love that," he smiled and extended his arm out "after you."
"Why thank you," she smiled and began leading the way.
"Enjoy your walk," smiled the Queen as her bodyguard opened the door for them.
"Thank you," Clarisse smiled back at her then walked out the door as Joseph followed two steps behind.
"I'm glad they are getting on," Queen Beatrice said as she moved to stand behind her desk and looked at the door momentarily as her guard closed it behind them.
"Me too, but did you see how he looked at her?" He asked while taking up his position by the door.
"Hmm, I did," she nodded and averted her gaze to him, "I think we might have to keep an eye on him."
"Yes, I do too," he agreed.
