Child's Play
It was conflicting to say the least. The world was full of pawns and pets and toys that he just had to play with, but when do you draw the line between playing and using? He didn't know or he simply refused to acknowledge it. Toys were toys; you played with them and used them for your own needs. You can't play with something without using it.
It was simple logic.
But when he grew up, toys turn into chess pieces and he becomes the player and soon people become pawns for him to control. It was easy to forget that in such a short matter of time he's acting like him. Putting others in danger for revenge, hatred and the desire to do what's right… But good deeds have bad consequences.
He knew that, but still he enjoyed the game.
And when you have the greatest toy of all and soon it becomes broken to the point that you have to throw it away, he couldn't find anything like it. Sure there were many other versions of the toy, but they were different. He couldn't use it, it wasn't the same sensation, and there was no need for a hunt.
That toy would become pathetic.
With such a weak mind and the same powers the toy was a cheap imitation of the original.
He knew it; the toy knew it, so why did it even bother causing this ruckus?
Did it think that he would have interest in such a weak minded little thing?
So when the murders stopped, he could only smile. History is never repeated by weak-minded fools who live for power. It's repeated by those who see the world in a different light, in a different color, those who have a strong sense of justice. The road to hell is paved with good intentions, after all.
Near knows that.
It's a shame his toys don't.
Near is growing on me, really he is. The plot is based on what happened during the Death Note Omake, where there is a new "Kira" that Near calls the "Cheap Kira." And then the "C-Kira" kills himself, because he states that he won't waste his time on him. T It's on Volume 13 of Death Note. You can find the entire story on Mangafox. This is my first Death Note fanfiction, so I'm worried if I went too OCC. I honestly think I did, but it's okay if I did. I'll keep practicing, I'm not that great of a writer. I was actually expecting my first Death Note fanfiction to be about Light. I actually like Light, he's a cool guy. I just like him. I'm not going to ramble about why I like certain characters, I'll be wasting your time if I did that.
And I'm still wasting your time by writing.
Tell me what you think.
