Eichi and I were sitting on the roof of the orphanage, looking at the sky. The moon was faintly shinning above us, and the sky was filled with stars.

"Mitsuki, did you know that only 59% of the moon's surface is visible from earth? I read that once in a book my grandfather gave me before he died,", Eichi said to me, while still staring up towards the moon. "On the moon, there's no wind or water. It sits up there, looking down on us, almost like a god, all by itself."

" must get lonely." I said feeling sad, I was so innocent those days. "If I was all by myself for all those years, I know I would be sad. Plus I would miss you, Eichi."

"The moon isn't lonely though, he has us." Eichi said, now looking at me. "This is what i love about you. Your so darn cute."

I remember I blushed and then changed the topic by asking him more about the moon.

"The moon is 4.5 billion years old. I wish we could live that long. and be together. The moon has many craters, mountains, and valleys. But from here, it looks like a perfect smooth circle, but up close it has many scars from all these years. There is so much to know about the moon and it's beauty, it's so fascinating," Eichi was now looking through his telescope, which was focused on the moon.

"Your going to make a brilliant astronaut, and when you go to space one day, you have to tell me all about it." I said, it was a childlike thought.

"And you'll be the most beautiful singer in the world, and everyone will love you. You'll end up ditching me for yours fans." Eichi told me, joking around, with a smile on his face.

"You know i would never leave you. Your my best and only friend."

That's what i told him. I would never leave him, but he had left me, and left this world behind. I remember that night like it was yesterday. Even though it was over 20 years ago, I can still recall every moment spent with Eichi, the first love of my life. Even though i have Takuto, and I love him with all my heart, I will never forget Eichi.

I will always love him.
