The Joker had no idea where this Barbie doll had come from but he found its presence amusing since it reminded him of the real life doll sleeping a few feet away. He stared at the miniature version of his Harley girl, long wavy blonde hair, big blue eyes, everlasting smile. The Joker glanced at the larger version and noticed a small smile on her face.

"Atta girl always smiling for daddy," the clown mumbled softly. He quietly made his way toward the bed still holding the Barbie and climbed in slowly so he wouldn't wake Harley. He placed the doll next to her face. "She looks just like you," he whispered. "And look I can play with her all I want." To prove his point The Joker proceeded to manipulate the Barbie dolls limbs, stretching its arms and legs at many odd angles. "She doesn't complain either in fact she seems to enjoy it." The clown moved in closer, still whispering. Harley appeared to not have heard anything, nothing in her demeanor changed one bit.

"Still smiling huh pooh?" The Joker changed positions, abandoning the limbs and moving towards the defense dolls head. Swiftly he pulled the head clean off. The dolls expression didn't change. The Joker laughed softly, "Will you always smile for me, I bet you wont." Quickly the smile disappeared from his face as he moved his hands around Harley's throat. The Joker applied no pressure to her exposed throat but studied her face closely. He noticed her smile suddenly disappeared as well. "What's wrong my little Harlequin?" The Joker gradually applied more pressure and Harley whimpered. "She's still smiling!" he growled and Harley's eyes opened.

"Puddin?" She gasped as much as she could. The Joker squeezed harder and Harley couldn't breath. She reached towards his face and started stroking his cheek hoping to sooth him. He simply squeezed harder and now Harley could no longer see, her eyes beginning to water. She desperately clawed at his hands but they didn't budge. The Joker removed one hand and grabbed something. Some of the tears cleared away and she could see he was now holding a Barbie's detached head and began twirling it between his fingers. The Joker didn't say anything as he continued to strangle her. Her entire face ached, her eyes burned and her body tingled. She noticed that he continued to stare at the doll then back at her repeatedly.

Then it dawned on Harley, he was disappointed because she wasn't smiling. Her puddin was testing her to see how much she loved him and she was failing. Well she wouldn't let him down so despite the pain, lack of oxygen and panic that these would be her final moments she smiled. Harley smiled the most genuine smile of her life knowing she proved herself, she proved to him she could be exactly what he wanted. He released her throat and breathed life back into his little Harley doll.

Authors Note: Just a little idea bouncing around in my head for a while. It's really short and I don't know if I want to keep going with it or just leave it as is. Anyway reviews are appreciated
