2o Random Facts about Roger of Conté
1. Roger had, since a very young age, been disappointed that he had not inherited the royal blue of the Conté Gift. Years after the birth of his cousin (who steals his position as heir of Tortall), Roger's first signs of loathing for Jonathon emerge when he discovers the child has a sparkling blue Gift.
2. As a child, Roger was like by many and considered to be a charming, well-behaved boy.
3. In his teenage years, Roger tended to keep his friends very close, and had few enemies. His parents found it quite normal that he was liked by so many.
4. What his parents did not consider quite normal was catching their only son locking lips with his best friend.
5. Roger convinced his parents not to make him go for a knighthood. After he "accidentally" killed his father's horse with his Gift, they agreed.
6. He learnt many things during his time at the Mithran Cloisters, some of which had nothing to do with his Gift.
7. After the deaths of his parents, King Roald welcomed Roger with open arms. Though he tried not to think about it, Roger considered Roald to be more of a father to him than his own father had been. Plotting to kill him had been difficult.

9. When his cousin and the redhead returned from the Black City not as dead as he would have liked, he began to worry.
10. Roger does not like to worry as he has heard it can cause grey hairs.
11. When King Roald made the mistake of assigning a maid to cleaning Roger's rooms, she was surprised to find that he owned a total of eight mirrors.
12. Roger does, in fact, use every one of those mirrors.
13. When he locked eyes with a dark-eyed young man across a banquet hall one night, Roger decided he was in need of a squire.
14. The following night, he was bedding Alex of Tirragen.
15. It was Alex who urged him to take precautions before his duel with Alanna. Great sorcerer he may be, but swordsman he was not.
16. Although Sorcerer's Sleep was an excellent alternative to death, the thought of being trapped in a coffin still gave him nightmares.
17. Thom of Trebond looked exactly like his sister, except with facial hair. He was surprisingly easy to...win over.
18. After his death, Roger disposed of all eight of his mirrors.
