Fallen.

PrologueIt sucked.
Everything sucked.
The only thing that would have made her happy, excluding the fact that her night was ruined, was that Ginny looked gorgeous. She was dressed in a black dress that came to about her knees, and Hermione had done her hair up in a French twist a la Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's. It didn't matter to her that they were one of the few who had ever heard of the movie.
And now, even looking pretty was sucking because her date to the Halloween ball had gotten sick. Either that or he was canceling on her to with some hot older girl that was probably dressed in way to little to be considered appropriate attire for a school dance.
Oh well she figured, she didn't like Dean all that much to begin with.
Ginny decided to go down and get some ice cream from the kitchens before coming back to the common room to put her pjs on. Yes, Ginny thought, ice cream and her favorite book would be much nicer than going to a lame dance with a boy she didn't even like that much.
With that decided Ginny slipped off her black heels, climbed through the fat lady and set off on the path that she had learned from Fred and George years ago.

Draco was bored.
He didn't have a reason to go to the dance so why bother?
But he was still bored.
Ah well, if it came down to it he could always meander the hallways pretending to look for the occasional rule breaker. It didn't matter that there wouldn't be any because of this stupid dance that the old loon of a headmaster had set up.
He thought for another moment and then decided. It had come down to it.

She padded through the deserted hallways following what she knew to be her autopilot, after all, fifth year was supposedly the hardest and she needed her fuel when burning the late night oil.
As she was tickling the pear, Ginny heard footsteps approaching. Thinking it was Filch; she headed back the way she came, mentally preparing herself for the worst.
And it was.
"Oh, its just you" she said to Draco, and turned on her heel.
"Who did you expect it to be Weasley?" he responded. "Everyone else is at that stupid dance."
"Yeah, because I'm sure Filch has a really hot date tonight."
"Well you should be just as scared, I'm a prefect" he said condescendingly.
"Who said I was scared?" Ginny retorted, resuming her task of coaxing the pear to change into a doorknob.
"I did." Draco said watching Ginny disappear behind the painting.
