The Escape

Chapter 1

The night sky was filled with lightning and all you could hear was thunder. Everyone was sound asleep, except for me. I am Caitlyn Gomez and I live with my step mother, or as I like to call her step monster, and idiotic father, but tonight I won't be living with them anymore. You're probably wondering where I may be going. Well, besides away from my treacherous family, anywhere fate may take me. These "people" are ruining my life and every time something goes wrong it goes on my head. Step monster is way too overprotective of her twins. She won't even let me give them a hug, not that I'd want to. I threw my orange bag over my shoulder. I had packed food, water, clothes, first aid kit and my favorite book, the Red Umbrella. I set off to start my new life. I walked out the door and ran as fast as I could. When I stopped to rest, I saw my chestnut hair in knots, my red shirt was tattered, my jeans were ripped to shreds. I got up and kept on running. I didn't know where I was heading, but any place other than was good enough for me. I stopped to rest for the night. I was scared cold and upset at myself. As I began to doze off, I heard something moving, a twig cracked, and some leaves rustled. I climbed up a tree and hid and watched the ground below me. Then a boy about 14 years old appeared along with a girl who looked about 12 walking through the forest. The boy had platinum blonde hair, pale skin, and green eyes. The girl, on the other hand, has black hair, brownish black eyes, and pale skin.

"Come on, Jason. Face it! We're lost."

"Okay, we are lost."

I was just about to leave when I heard more rustling. What now? A half goat dude appeared out of nowhere.

"Damn, Edward! You scared the fahoozie out of me!," said Alex

"Sorry, it's not my fault. He ran out of my sight. He's pretty fast," said a boy who came out behind Edward.

The other boy had blonde hair, blue eyes, and uber tan skin. He looked about my age. He had a sword in his hand and a shield on his other hand. He was wearing a blue shirt and black shorts and white running shoes that had wings on them. They looked amazing.

"It's fine, Andrew," said Jason.

"I'm gonna scout the perimeter."

"Fine, but be careful, Andrew."

That was when I jumped down and landed quietly and began running. I had run so fast that I felt as if I was flying. I was!

"I gotcha."

"Put me down! Now!"

"Gee…let me think…Ugh NO!"

In the end, he put me down on a huge rock where I sat. He stood there guarding me with a bow and arrow.

"Sit and stay."

"Woof."

"Ha Ha…very funny."

Suddenly, a wolf as big as a truck was charging towards us. Andrew shot multiple arrows and after a while, the wolf dropped dead.

"We're set for the next 3 weeks."

"Poor thing."

"That's just the way life goes."

When he went to pull the arrows out of the wolf, I jumped off the rock and began running. My goal was to get out of there.
