It was during a Monday morning staff meeting that a decision that would change Harry's life on its head was taken. The meeting, for all the consequences it would bring about, was a regular one. The meeting was called by the Headmistress, C. Roemmele, to discuss the event of the last Thursday afternoon.

The students of the school were lead out by their teacher only for little Mr. Pier Polkiss to run forward without them. All the student were then the witness of Mr. Polkiss's untimely death when he, unfortunately, jumped right in front of a speeding vehicle. All very tragic, of course.

The implications of this was felt the next Friday, when the parents of Polkiss came threatening to sue, not to mention the rest of the parents who jumped in about their child's emotional health. Mrs. Dursley was especially loud about 'her diddly dumkins.'

The school board had to act. It especially was important that the school was seen as taking all actions necessary for the safety and security of its students. Even for that little ruffian Potter.

"So" The headmistress looked at all the teachers. "What shall we do about all this?"

The teachers looked at each other and then back at the headmistress blankly. For all that the teachers at St. Grogory's were accused of; creativity was never one of them.

"I for one think that this whole thing will just blow over." Mr Wint, the maths teacher proclaimed. "Let's not borrow trouble and make this bigger than it has to be, hum?"

"Mr. Wint." The headmistress eyed the man. "We must show that we are on top of things! Not doing anything will only make this worse! Now does anyone have anything useful to offer?"

The teachers eyed each other, not willing to be the one on the firing range of Roemmele's eye.

"Very well". The headmistress sighed. "My darling son has offered a solution I think could placate the parents. We can hire the services of a professional counselor and have each student attend a session with him. What do you all think?"

There was a beat of silence before all the teachers beamed happily and loudly proclaiming this as the best solution. The headmistress beamed back at them, happy that once again she had managed to solve a worrisome issue.

"Ms. Roemmele," Mr. Wint once again spoke up," Your solution is a masterful one! We should also of course have more safety measure to ensure something like this will never happen again!"

"Of course, of course," The headmistress nodded. "Well, does anyone have any ideas into this?"

The meeting moved on, not realizing how one little decision changed a little boy's life around.

A/N: Hey guys! Just trying a new story here. I absolutely adore all the stories were Harry actually try's to do something before his 5th year when all things went to hell in a hand basket. (Always wanted to use that phrase.) Simply trying a premise were Harry receives a little counselling that make him take a bit more positive outlook on life.

The Harry Potter in the original series has always been a favorite character of mine. But after a long time away from the series as a whole, I had the opportunity to give the series a read through the other day and it made me realize that he is so…lack luster. It was only when it came to things like Quidditch and stopping Voldemort that he actually started getting excited. This kind of struck me as weird.

Keeping in mind that Harry had a horrible home where he was made to work and conform to Petunia's image of normality, it struck me as weird that he didn't jump to take the opportunity to throw all of her teachings away and actually achieve something. At the same time, I don't expect him to be a worldly genius that's some fics portray him as. Which I do like to read, but come on. He's 11. All 11 year old are little childish and have interests in all things weird and gross. That's what I am going to try and portray here. A little more hardworking Harry with a little more expectations from his life.

Please let me know what you think.
