The World After You

Chapter 1

Caroline Forbes hadn't known how sweet freedom tasted until her freedom was no longer under her control. She thought of this as she sat in the car with her mother who was forcing her to go to this stupid clinic that specialized in helping young adolescents in their road to recovery, but the thing was that Caroline had never had a problem. Sure she didn't eat as much as the other girls, had exercised constantly, and had made herself puke out the contents of her stomach more than once or twice, but she could never understand how that could affect anyone else. It wasn't hurting them and as far as she noticed it wasn't hurting her. She wasn't the one with the problem. It was everybody else who kept telling her that she did.

Sighing she took out her cellphone and scrolled down her playlist listening to music while she scrolled down the multiple text messages she used to get. The messages from her friends that had somehow stopped when they found out she had a 'problem'. Whatever. She thought putting her phone back and sinking further in her seat like if she tried hard enough she would disappear too. If only.

Before she knew it her mother turned off the path and stopped at the adolescence road to recovery center. Even the name made Caroline want to barf as she got out of the car and walked the path to the center with her mother by her side.

"Well I guess this is where I leave you." her mother stated as they approached the door.

"Yeah. Whatever. I guess you can't stick around for your daughter to commit herself to a mental hospital."

"Don;'t be so overdramtic Caroline. This will be good for you I promise."

Caroline rolled her eyes in a way of saying goodbye to her mother as she turned the knob and walked into the center that was now going to be her new life.
