Title: "Follow the Bouncing Ball"

------

I walk into CJ's office holding the rubber ball. This is a nervous habit I should really get rid of and I know it. I can't believe this guy is still going at it. He wasn't supposed to last this long. CJ is holding everybody hostage and well I don't mind it's given me some time to think and just get more confused.

Bounce, Bounce, Bounce.

"He's doing it again." Josh commented as he walked into Sam's office.

"Yeah."

"He must want to see you."

"No, he really doesn't. That's a different bounce."

"He has different bounces?"

"Yeah."

"What is this The Sound of Music?"

"No, this is the White House."

"Okay, I'm gonna go home and pack."

"Me too." Sam followed Josh out of the office.

"I'm going to Port St. Lucie, Man."

"I know, Dude."

Josh turned to Sam. "Not funny." They both left the West Wing hoping to enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Bounce, Bounce, Bounce.

What does he know that I don't? Why did he attack the oil industry? It doesn't make sense. He would never help us. He has never helped us. Why should he start now? Could he be making a run for it? Is that why he did what he did? Is that why he put the poll in the field? Why the hell would he do that? He knows we're running again. We have to be running again. Are we running again? Why wouldn't we run?

Bounce, Bounce, Bounce.

The President is scaring us. Leo seems calm and he is telling us we have to run for him. He says he's not ready yet and that if we ask him to run he'll sit down. Fine, we'll run and I'll do my job. My questions, does the President want to run again? Why did Mrs. Bartlet stand in my office after the State of the Union and dress me down? She looked scared and out of sorts that night like she was mad at something or someone. What was she scared about? Who or what was she mad at and why? I need to talk to the President and Leo. We need a clear plan for the future.

Bounce, Bounce, Bounce.

What I still can't figure out is what the heck is up with Hoynes? What does that man have up his sleeve? I don't know but I intended to find out.

Bounce, Bounce, Bounce, Bounce, Bounce, Bounce.

This isn't helping me but right now I can't think of anything better to do.

Bounce, Bounce, Bounce, Bounce, Bounce, Bounce.
