"Mama, I'd better be off."
"Goodbye Berlious, dear, say hello to Tolouse for me!"
"I will mama."
The now all-grown-up black tom padded down the Paris sidewalks, heading back to his own master. Berlious smiled sadly as he remembered his childhood.
Madame died soon after they had gotten back from that awful journey Edgar had sent them on. Another local rich woman by the name of Susan took them in, as well as Thomas. He was civilized by then.
After the kittens had grown up, other people bought them as Mama explained when they were just small.
Tolouse still lived in Paris (next to Berlious) and continued to paint and has brought his master much fame.
Berlious had his own litter of kittens on the way with a pretty grey cat called Roselite. He continued to play piano.
Marie was bought by a moviestar and moved to Hollywood where she remains the moviestar's status symbol. She is surprisingly content.
Duchess lives with Susan all alone. She is too old to bear kittens.
Thomas O'Malley died from getting hit by a 'magic carpet' that was about to hit a tiny kitten. The kitten was not hurt.
Thomas O'Malley is still considered the King of Paris.
Just ask any ol' alley cat.
