I miss mommy..." a four year old Sage murmured, laying his head on his folded arms.
"I know, son." Randall sighed as he flipped another pancake, "But mommy will be coming home this summer. Aren't you excited about that?"
"Yes." Sage said, bobbing his head up and down slowly, "But why can't summer come now? I wanna see mommy again."
Randall sighed. It was natural for children like him to want to see their mother or father again. He doesn't blame the kid. Whenever his father went to work, Randy would wait by the window until he came home.
"Daddy?" Sage then asked, "Do you think I'll get a brother? Or sister?"
Randall chuckled as he flipped the pancake again. Did I forget to mention that Mart was pregnant again? Let's just say that they celebrated after Sage came home. But yes, they were expected another baby. Much to Sulley's horror.
"I don't know son, we'll just have to wait and see." Randall went over to the table with two plates of pancakes and a cup of milk and coffee. After taking his seat, the two began to eat their breakfast. Personally, Randall hope that Sulley would wake up by the time they're done.
"Hey dad," Sage then asked, "Did you miss your mommy when you went to college?"
"A lot." Randall admitted, "But over time I got use to the fact that she couldn't always be with me. Same goes for your grandfather."
Sage was silent. He couldn't stand the fact that he could live without his mother or father. How would he survive? The child tapped the floor with his tail slightly.
"I something wrong, Sage?" Randall asked when he noticed how silent his son was.
"I just don't wanna leave you and mommy." the child murmured.
Randall sighed, "Everyone has to leave their mommy and daddy eventually, Sage. It's all part of growing up."
Sage pouted, "But what if I don't wanna grow up?"
Randall chuckled. "Everyone has to grow up, Sage." he said with a smile.
Sage bit his lip slightly, "I'm scared about growing up.
Randall sighed and placed a hand on his son's shoulder. "You shouldn't be thinking about this, Sage." Randall said gently, "You should be enjoying your childhood. Enjoy it while it still last. That way, when you do grow up, you'll be able to live knowing that you had a good childhood."
Sage smiled a small smile at his father. "Your right daddy." he said before giving his father a big, tight, hug. Randall hugged back as well, rubbing his son's back comfortly. "Daddy?" Sage then asked, pulling a away, "Can we throw a surprise party for mommy when she comes home?"
Randall smiled, "That sounds like a splendid idea. I'll talk with the others about it."
"YAAAAAAAY!" Sage cheered happily.
End.
