Bedtime was Michonne's favorite time of day. Although they were usually utterly exhausted, it was the time of day she would have some uninterrupted time with Rick. Sometimes this meant intimacy, other times it just meant they could finally have a conversation with one another.

Michonne let out a soft yawn as she got into bed. She listened closely to hear Rick reading Judith a book and tucking her in in the next room. "The end. Goodnight sweetheart," he said softly.

She heard the door close and he smiled as he entered him and Michonne's room and saw her wasting no time getting in bed. As Rick got ready for bed they began discussing their plans for the community and Michonne mentioned some ideas that she had written for the charter. Ever since they had found out Michonne was pregnant, Rick had urged Michonne to take more breaks from her work and rest. Therefore she was still working on the draft. But rest was hard to do while also playing with and caring for Judith. So Rick opted to stay at Alexandria many days just to give Michonne a break. Rick was overjoyed when he found out, but also very protective for good reasons.

"I missed you today, Judith was a handful. She refused to take a nap and was grumpy for the rest of the day," Michonne said with a sigh.

"I wish I could've been here, but I had some thangs to take care of at base camp. Some of the saviors were startin' fights but we got it under control," he said with that country accent she loved so much. She had grown to love the way he pronounced certain words, 'things' especially. She watched as he stripped down to his boxers and climbed into bed next to her. He laid a kiss on her forehead and wrapped an arm around her. Michonne felt a sudden flutter in her stomach and gently placed her hand on top. "Thangs are under control over there, and I should be able to stay here in Alexandria for a few days," he said quietly as he started to reach to turn out the lamp.

"Rick!" Michonne exclaimed. "The baby's kicking!" Rick turned around and laid his hand on her belly, feeling the movements inside. He giggled, "our baby can kick, she's kicking."

"He's kicking. It's definitely a boy, I can tell," she said with a sweet smile.

"Hmmm," he replied, seemingly fascinated by the way her stomach moved under his hand. "We'll have to go to Siddiq to get an ultrasound, maybe figure out the gender, if it's not too early," he suggested, eager to find out as much as he could about this baby. Michonne nodded and rested her hand on top of his, still holding her belly. "Do you have any names you like?" he asked.

"For a boy, I like Elijah. What do you think?" she questioned.

"I like the name Iris."

"And for a boy?"

"Haven't thought that far ahead yet," he added.

She chuckled, "So we have one boy name and one girl name."

"We'll think of some more in the next 7 months," he assured.

"Yeah," she said as she lifted her hand and kissed his.

"Goodnight, I love you." He looked down to her belly. "Goodnight, baby."

He turned off the lamp and laid in bed behind her with his hand still on her stomach, feeling the occasional flutter of movement as he fell asleep.
