Notes: this is written for the 30soldiers community on LiveJournal. This is theme #2, Yellow. Satoru is thinking about Natsuki. Slight spoilers for Task 2.
He chose Natsuki to be the Yellow Boukenger for a reason. She partly reminded him of himself, in that they loved the thrill of a good adventure. Although Natsuki was much more cautious then he was, and she tended to worry about things.
Then again, that was what made Natsuki herself. She was cautious, yet fun-loving. In some ways, she was the exact opposite of the other female Boukenger, Sakura.
Satoru also knew how much Natsuki wanted to find her real family. That's why he wouldn't let her quit. Her bubbly personality was part of what held the Boukengers together.
All of a sudden, Natsuki herself came up to him.
"Chief! What are you thinking about?" She asked, looking at him closely.
"Nothing," he responded, as if thinking about her had summoned her. He had a smile on his face, and chuckled as he walked away from her.
"Chief is keeping a secret from Natsuki! You can tell Natsuki!" She said, following him around the lounge.
"You really want to know?" he asked her seriously.
"Yes," she said excitedly, wondering what Chief was keeping from her.
"I was thinking about how glad I am that Natsuki-chan decided to stay with us." He said, looking her in the face. "She's been a wonderful addition to the team." He continued, the pride evident in his tone.
"Really? Thank you, Chief!" Natsuki said, pleased and gave Satoru a quick hug to show her appreciation, as he gently hugged her back.
"No problem." He said, watching her walk away. And there was the proof of why she was BoukenYellow.
