Disclaimer: Nope. Don't own Harry Potter.
"Hey, Padfoot!" James shouted out in the middle of a busy street.
"Oh, hi Prongs," Sirius responded, downcast.
"What's got your tail in a knot? What happened this summer? Did you fail all your OWL's?"
Sirius chuckled. "I wish. It would make everything so much simpler."
"You know I hate it when you don't tell me stuff," James said.
"I know. That's why I do it."
"So, did you finish all of your shopping?" James asked, changing the subject.
"Nope. Haven't started. Sixth year should be fun, don't you think?" Sirius said sarcastically.
"I guess. Do you think Lily still hates me after what I did to Snivellus after the OWL's?"
Sirius laughed abruptly. "James, she never liked you. You above everyone else should know that."
"Why though?"
"Hmm... Let me think. You know, it might strangely enough have to do with how your constantly jinxing people in the corridors. Or, oddly enough, maybe she doesn't like it when you call her by her last name. No, that can't be it." Sirius faked pondering for a few seconds.
"Ha, ha. Very funny, Padfoot. So, what about you? Are you after some girl you can't get? I don't get why girls are so stubborn. And how is anyone supposed to know what they're thinking? All that coded talk. And giggling. I hate giggling."
"You mean you hate it when other people giggle. You seem to have no problem with yourself doing it," Sirius said, smirking.
"Padfoot!" James groaned. "So, any lady troubles?"
"Lady troubles? No, not that I'm aware of no. Why?" Sirius asked curiously.
"Oh, no reason. It's just your lack of energy and bad mood reminds me of myself everytime Lily turns me down."
"Why would anyone turn me down?"
"Ooh. Self-centered, a little, aren't we Sirius?"
"Just a bit."
"All right then, do you have a problem...starting a reltionship with...someone?" James asked rewording his previous question.
"With someone? Umm...dammit James. I hate it when you do this."
"Do what?" James said, grinning.
"You know, mess with my mind. Make me answer you against my better intentions."
"So, are you going to answer anytime soon? I'm getting old standing here."
"Oh, no. James, getting old. And then what will he do when he's no longer young and handsome with girls swooning at his feet. However will he have a chance against Lily?"
"Very funny, Sirius. But please, will you tell me?"
"Ok, fine. I am having troubles 'starting a relationship with someone'. Happy?"
"Almost. With who?" James tried again to get a response from Sirius.
"Not telling," Sirius said immediately.
"Why? Is is because it's Remus?" James asked, smirking when he saw Sirius freeze.
