A Surprise Proposal

AN: Ugh…Stupid name but best I could come up with. This is just a take on how James proposes to Lily. It's kind of cliché but whatever. This is also my first time doing romance, so don't flame me too much (lol)! Also check out my other stories (they are very random) at my profile. AND DON'T FORGET TO REVIEW!

Disclaimer: Do you really think I wrote Harry Potter? Because if you did, I would laugh at you. A lot.

It was the end of the seventh year and James and Lily were finally a couple. They were taking a walk around the lake, basking in the sun's warmth, reminiscing over the past years.

"Remember that time when I made you have green hair?" James said chuckling.

"Yes, don't remind me. It took days to make it come off."

"Aw! It wasn't that bad!"

"Hey, you weren't the one having to wear it!"

This went on for a long time, both Lily and James enjoying themselves.

James started to look at his hands, his palms facing downward. Lily noticed this peculiar motion and thought something might be wrong. She looked back between James's eyes and his hands. He didn't stop starring. Then out of an invisible compulsion, she looked at her own hands.

James grinned, "Ha! I knew you would look!"

Lily pushed him playfully and began to walk away from him, "Oh my god. I can't believe I fell for that. Again. Just because you look at your hands, doesn't mean I-"

James interrupted her ranting, "Look again."

"No. If you think that I'm going to fall for that again, you must be crazy."

"Please? Look one more time."

There was something in his desperate tone or maybe in Lily's curious nature that made Lily turn around.

James was right behind her, barely inches apart. Lily looked down at James's hands and gasped. There, in his hand held a ring.

James knelt down onto one knee, "Lily…Will you marry me?"

Lily wanted to say yes but she was speechless. Instead she leapt into his arms and kissed him passionately.

Which James took as a definite yes.
