Now our story begins with a boy named Rowan. Rowan is beginning his journey as a knight today, he is naturally cocky, and overzealous of his abilities, and has a gigantic ego, like most new knights. Rowan is from an ancient village, the village of Earth. There is one characteristic most warriors from his village inherit, and that is a revengeful, cocky nature.
At the age of 10, every warrior leaves their land and heads to the fire village. The fire village is the largest in the land, and hundreds of students go there to train for either knighthood, the ancient art of magic, or the fine skill of ranging. Once a student arrives at the fire village, they take shelter in an academy, where they live until they choose to leave.
Students at the academy go through four ranks, academy student, junior knight, apprentice knight, and special knight. The title of night may be substituted by ranged or mage. When young knights begin as academy students, they must pass an incredibly difficult test. Following that, the knew junior knights are placed in teams of three, and sent into an ancient mountain to fetch two colored orbs, a red and a blue one.
There are only enough for half the team to come back, and whatever team comes back with the orb, they are know apprentice knights. Many of the young men and woman training for end up dead in the mountain. Their bodies are shipped back to the village, and life goes on.
Now to become a special knight, apprentice knights go through a tournament, a semi final if you will. In these first rounds, the winner goes on to the finals, and there are no rules in these two tournaments, and many end up dead. In the final round the top five ranking people in the tournament become special knights, the rest try again, and again. Some competitors in the tournament are as old as twenty five!!
Special knights are appointed a teacher, who will teach them what they need to go on with their lives. Once they become excellent warriors, they go through a ritual, and are sent to a new world. In this world, there are no laws, and making a living is incredibly hard. The teachers occasionally visit their students, and some even join their knights in their quests.
That is where our story begins… In this new world, with Rowan, and his teacher Skych….
