Envy
Kairi fidgeted with her pitifully empty lunch tray, eyeing the huge line of students in front of her. Her stomach oh-so-helpfully reminded her that she had been waiting for a long time already with a very embarrassing growl. She cursed her bad luck silently, trying to ignore her hunger. Why on earth did she have to be late for lunch? The sudden sounds of laughter brought her attention to about ten yards in front of her, where the popular Aqua was trying to slide in beside Ventus and Terra.
"Of course you can come in line with us, Aqua! Just make sure you're not late next time," they laughed, allowing said popular blue-haired teenager to hover next to them. Aqua smiled and giggled, looking so happy while she moved steadily towards food.
Kairi frowned and sighed, wishing desperately that she could do the same.
