Part One: Just A Small Town Girl

Chapter One

Two more days.

Two.

More.

Days.

Isabella Swan blinked lazily and refocused her eyes on the old, office-style clock ticking above the doorway.

Tick. Two.

Tock. More.

Tick. Days.

The clock read one-fifteen. And thirty-eight seconds. Thirty-nine. Forty.

She couldn't wait to get out of that hellhole of a town.

As Mr. Banner lectured on and on and on and on (in her head he sounded like the adults in the old Peanuts cartoons, wah-wah-wah-wah-wah), Isabella replayed her plan in her head. Then what, genius? her over-analytical brain asked. She pondered the question for a moment before a grin overtook her features.

Freedom.
