Hit And Run

My name is Will LaMontagne Jr. I have a son and a girlfriend. My son's name is Henry and my girlfriend's name is Jennifer. I love them both very much. I'm an officer in the D.C police Department (DCPD) and I'm very devoted to my job. And this is the story of how, in just one day, my life got turned upside down.

J.J's P.O.V

"Chris Stratton is asking for the man who killed his brother." Emily relayed to us, brushing her dark locks out of her eyes. My boyfriend Will (who is also a police detective with D.C Police Department) sat up immediately.

"I gotta go then." He had shot one of Oliver (Chris's brother) when his own partner had also been killed by a shot in the head. Will had been shooting in self-defense. Now, the whole bank of Columbia was being held hostage with Chris Stratton shooting a person every 60 seconds that Will did not come through the doors. Needless to say, things weren't looking to good.

"Will, you can't go in there." I shifted myself in front of the doorway so he couldn't leave the truck that we all were sitting in. No way in hell was I letting the man I loved go walk to his death.

"You'd do the same thing." Will leveled his eyes at each of us, looking between me and one of my fellow BAU agents, SSA Derek Morgan.

"That may be. But while I admire your courage, you're too close to this Will." Morgan stated putting a hand on Will's shoulder.

"If I don't go in there, he'll just keep killin people." Will's eyes held mine for a moment. "You'd all do the same thing. He knows what I look like, he's not gonna let in anyone who isn't me." I closed my eyes briefly.

"Will…" my voice trailed off as he stared down Hotch. I left the room as soon as I saw a look in Morgan's eyes. I knew he was not going to give up.

Will's P.O.V

This was going to be interesting. Inside that bank were at least 20 citizens that I had sworn to protect. And whether or not J.J wanted to admit it, I needed to go in there. We had no evidence that he would stop shooting people once he saw me, but I needed to try. I would not let dozens of people die because I couldn't get through those doors. I felt a tap on my shoulder. I looked up and saw SSA Rossi handing me a bullet proof vest.

"Where's J.J?" I asked quietly. I needed to at least see her, just for a second. She had to know that I was only doing this because there wasn't another way. Honestly, I was scared stiff. But I had taken an oath to help and protect the people of D.C. And there was no way in hell that I was gonna let them down.

"She's over there." Rossi jerked his head toward Morgan and Emily where they were trying to calm J.J down. Taking a deep breath I turned toward the building and began walking. All of a sudden I heard someone scream my name.

"Will!" J.J. was being restrained by Morgan literally holding her arms behind her back, with Emily standing in front of her. "No Will! Don't! NO!" Her voice was so heart breaking I almost couldn't bear it. Inhaling deeply once, I turned from her and continued trotting toward the bank. All of a sudden, something extremely fast banged into me. I went sprawling, and lay stunned for a minute on the asphalt. When I looked up again, I saw J.J's lithe frame leaping toward the bank.

"J.J!" Morgan and Emily were racing towards me. I was already to my feet though, darting towards the entrance. They were both hot on my heels when suddenly I stopped in my tracks. I could hear a faint voices from inside.

"What's you're name?" Chris spat out as he looked her up and down.

"My name is Agent Jennifer Jareau. I'm with the FBI." She stated calmly.

And that's when I heard the gun shot.
