Disclaimer: nothing, nowhere, nobody is mine. But that doesn't stop me writing a lot of - non-profit! - stories about them. Just enjoy them, and don't fuss!
A/N: I found this story while sorting through my Voyager map. I didn't post it before because it's a little vague, but I've been writing a bit the last few days and as I wanted you guys to share in that, but those stories aren't finished yet, I decided to post this for now. I hope you enjoy it and please review!
Standing, staring at the grave, Kathryn saw everything she'd missed, everything she could have had but hadn't. Everything she'd given up. The life, the man. She crouched down and ran her hand over the hill of dirt that marked Molly's grave, her symbol of all she'd missed while she'd been away. Seven years it'd taken to make a journey that should have lasted a lifetime and still it was a few days too late. For just a few days before they're returned, her dog had died.
So here she was, standing in Mark's backyard, the friend she now would never marry, looking at the spot he'd shown her as the resting place of her old dog.
"Your mother told me I'd find you here." a deep voice from behind her spoke. He moved to stand close behind her. "Thinking of the past?"
"Yes," she answered.
"Do you still have regrets?"
With a soft smile, she looked up at him. "Not now. I was merely remembering." Taking his hand she turned around. "Lets go home."
With the setting sun at their back, the petite Starship Captain and the tall Indian walked away.
Fine
