Prelude
Jj's POV:
It was a typical Tuesday afternoon. When I arrived early as usual, I found a case that stuck out at me. I don't know how to explain it but I felt drawn to it.
There were multiple murders, all involving people serving or once served in the military. Not only that, but it seemed that there was a 'group' that was being targeted. The people that were murdered all knew each other somehow. Whether it was because they were all friends, I wasn't sure yet.
I grabbed the file and told Hotch that we have a new case.
After briefing everyone on the team, we boarded on the jet and were currently going over the case again, more thoroughly.
"It seems that the victims vary different military branches." Rossi said, flipping through the papers.
"Here is a list. It seems that these people are possible targets. Are they being protected?" Morgan asked
I shook my head, "Unfortunately not. The PD says they have limited sources. They most they did was warn them." It boiled my blood knowing all these military people were in danger and weren't getting help.
"And what about the military? Can't they help?" Hotch asked
I shook my head. I was about to explain but Rossi voiced his thoughts.
"You'd think they wouldn't need it. Wouldn't they have all kinds of weapons for protection?" Rossi asked
"Perhaps the unsub or unsubs are skilled like the people in the military. I can't imagine a regular civilian getting the upper hand against someone so well trained." Reid said
The laptop beeped, signaling Penelope's call. Morgan answered, "What do you have baby girl?"
"I'm sending you the pictures you requested of the possible targets. Luckily they all live not too far away so, rounding them up won't be too difficult or time consuming." Garcia said
"Perfect." Hotch said
"It looks like there's quite a few of them." Rossi said as he watched page after page spat out of the printer.
I grabbed the stack and rummaged through them. "It appears that there are about seven of them." I flipped through them, naming them. "Jason McKinney, Juan Rodriguez, Rebecca North, Vincent Gallaway, Zachary Ford, Peter Wood and Emily Prentiss." When I got to Emily Prentiss, I felt an immediate attraction towards her. I didn't know why; I've never even seen her in person, just on paper. I wouldn't deny that Emily is very attractive.
I pushed the feeling away and the team continued discussing strategy and possibilities.
