I DO NOT OWN LOGAN
A/N: Hey guys! So, I know that I'm starting another story when I shouldn't be, because of all of the ongoing stories I have. But a Fanfiction reader by the name of DarthWolf2.0 contacted me and asked me if I could turn one of his ideas into a story. We Private Messaged each other back and forth and agreed on the storyline and characters and stuff, so here you go. This story takes place during the events of "Logan", but Laura is going to be slightly older than she was in the movie. She'll be fourteen instead of eleven. So, the events of "Logan" will take place—instead of the year 2029—in the year 2032. We hope you guys like it. We picture Jaden Smith as Jordan.
Jordan's P.O.V.
"Laura, Jordan, wait here," Gabriela says as she climbs out of the car and into the pouring rain. She looks back in at the two of us, sitting in the back seat. "I'll be right back."
"Don't hurry," I yell after her as she closes the door and runs towards a family who is burying their loved one. Did I mention that we're in a graveyard? After the silence settles in, I sigh. In the quiet car, my sigh sounds louder than it actually is.
I look at my traveling companion for a moment, truly taking her in for the first time since we left Transigen together. Laura is pretty, I guess. Her skin is fair, her hair is brown and goes down to her shoulder blades. Her nose is decent, and her eyes are dark brown. I think she's a year younger than me, maybe fourteen. I don't really know her that well. At Transigen, since I'm able to control metal, I was kept in a different part of the facility, away from everybody else. Away from anything metal, in a building made from anything but metal. Because of that, I've only seen the other kids from a distance.
"So…" I start, not really knowing what to say. "Do you think he'll help us?" Laura doesn't verbally answer me, but shrugs her shoulders. Okay, this is going well.
The "he" I was referring to is her father. Each one of us kids are the children of a powerful mutant. I'm the son of Erik Lehnsherr also known as Magneto. Laura is the daughter of James Howlett also known as Wolverine. I'm pretty sure all of us grew up reading about our parents in comic books, never getting a chance to actually meet them. But now Laura is going to meet her famous father.
I look out the window to see Gabriela getting soaked while talking to an older man. The man looks beat up and tired, and looks annoyed. It's only then that I put two and two together and realize that he is Wolverine.
"He's different than I thought he'd be," I whisper. This catches Laura's attention, and she leans over to look out the window with me.
Wolverine looks annoyed as he says something to Gabriela and turns to walk away. Gaby looks desperate as she shouts something after him. He doesn't look back, and Gaby, defeated, turns and runs back to the car.
Laura and I share a look as Gaby climbs back into the car. She's soaked down to the bone and shivering. She turns the car on, puts it in drive and starts to drive past the mourning family. Laura hurriedly jumps into the back and looks out at her father through the rear window.
"What happened?" I ask Gaby. She doesn't answer for a moment, just drives out of the graveyard and pulls out onto the street.
"He didn't want to listen," she finally tells us. Laura climbs back into the back seat with me and pushes her hair out of her face. "I'm going to have to find another way to talk to him." I automatically get an idea.
"Maybe you can call him and pretend like you want a ride in that limo he has, and then when he comes, you can get him to listen," I suggest.
Gaby raises her eyebrows and is quiet for a moment. "That's a great idea, Jordan. What would I do without you?" I smile and look at Laura to see what she thinks. She's already looking at me, but her poker face makes it hard to tell what she thinks.
"Good idea," she tells me in Spanish. It was barely a whisper, and I almost didn't catch it, but she said it. My smile widens, and I look out the window.
After about five minutes, Laura leans forward and taps Gaby on the shoulder. "Hungry," she says. "Eat." Gaby sighs and looks at the time. It's almost six o'clock.
"Okay, I'll drop the two of you off at the motel, and then I'll run and get us something for dinner." The rest of the ride is quiet, and soon enough we're pulling into the motel parking lot. Gaby parks the car and turns it off. Then we all run to the room that Gaby got for us to share. Gaby opens the door for us, and Laura and I walk in.
"I'll hopefully be back in about an hour. In the meantime, you guys know the rules. Don't open the door to anybody but me, and if Pierce turns up, you run, okay?" Laura and I nod, and Gaby leaves.
Feeling bittersweet, I sit down on one of the beds and turn the crappy old tv on. I think the thing dates back to 2012. Laura sits on the other bed and sighs quietly. I oddly feel like I have to comfort her in some way.
"Don't worry," I tell her. "We'll make it to Eden. And so will the others." She looks me in the eyes, and all I can see is an endless pool of hopelessness. I honestly know how she feels. After what happened when we escaped from Transigen, I'm scared that nobody else will show up. And at this point, I'm just hoping that Laura and I make it there.
A/N: What did you guys think? Please review!
