Believers

Chapter: One-shot

She smelled of dust and incense – teasing all of his senses and making his mind go numb for a while. His eyes were closed just to linger in the unspeakable sensation.

She was standing in front of him – her head lightly tilted to the side, and her deep violet eyes never straying from his figure.

Even though his eyes were closed, he could still clearly feel her - the light, yet heavy, presence that always filled a room whenever she was near.

It wasn't a matter of the things they had went through anymore, it was a matter of what they were about to face together.

He felt the delicate feeling of her fingertips at his chin, and the almost non existing feeling of her weight against his chest.

He slowly opened his eyes to meet hers – first now he noticed the hint of a smile dancing upon her lips. He found it amazing that she could still smile in such dark times – that she could still hold on to hope, when it was so frail.

He chose not to speak, instead focusing his mind on the feeling of her fingers tracing every outline of his face. It was a nice and unfamiliar feeling.

Because of her he could relax, if just for a bit – It didn't matter if she spoke or not, if she touched him or not, just her presence made him feel at ease.

In fact, he wanted to ask her about a lot of things. However, the words refused leave his lips. Maybe they were just destined to share the moment in silence? Maybe words lost their meaning long ago?

He inhaled sharply, when her fingers traced down his neck and onto the start of his black shirt.

As if the motion alone had made his whole body go limp, his grip around his zanpaktou was weakened – the powerful weapon sliding down until it was just resting at the tip of his fingers.

His free hand automatically came into contact with the back of her head while their eyes locked in place. He was met with a soft sensation when he carefully ran his fingers through her dark hair and was rewarded with a content sigh from the smaller girl.

He knew that he couldn't stay forever… that he soon had to leave her once again in order to serve a higher purpose. He couldn't be too caught up in the heat of the moment.

Half-heartedly, he slowly pulled away from her – the sensation of her figure, and her ghostlike touching, still lingering in his mind.

It was heartbreaking to see how the smile slowly left her lips and how her eyes were filled with questions once again – questions he couldn't answer.

However, they both believed in one thing; they were gonna meet again. Even if it was gonna take weeks, months or even years, destiny were definitely gonna pull them together again.

That was for sure.

A/N: Oh! Now all of you are probably gonna think 'Did Whispering Mink convert into a Ichiruki supporter?' xD Well, I don't mind the pairing at all, but I just felt like writing something else than Ulquihime all the time ^^ And, at the same time, treat all the Ichiruki supporters with a little something ^^

I hope you enjoyed reading this and R & R ^^
