Beauty is in the Eyes of the Beholder

Eloise Midgen always hated to look at herself in the mirror, and today wasn't any better than normal. As usual, her face was covered in hideous acne, and her nose would never be perfectly straight. But she felt even worse than usual because no one had asked her to the Yule Ball yet, and it was only a week away!

It wasn't as if she had to go, but like most teenaged girls, she really wanted to. But just a few minutes ago she heard Ron Weasley tell Harry Potter that she was ugly. Now, Eloise was hiding in Moaning Myrtle's bathroom, and she could tell you without a doubt that she looked horrible after crying.

The door opened softly, and Eloise looked up only to see a sheepish Harry Potter closing the door behind him.

"What are you doing here?" Eloise asked.

"I wanted to apologize to you," Harry said. "What Ron said . . . was very rude and uncalled for."

"Apology accepted. You can leave now."

"Instead of leaving, Harry sat down beside her.

"What are you doing now?" Eloise asked.

"Well, I was going to ask you to go to the Yule Ball with me, but if you want me to leave . . ."

Eloise looked up at him, shocked. "What did you just say?"

He grinned. "You heard me."

Eloise smiled back. "Yes," she answered.

After Harry left, she looked at the mirror again. She was beautiful.
