The familiar feeling of darkness was creeping in. His vision blurred, his muscles tensed, and the desire to kill crashed over him like a wave. He was vaguely aware of people crying out to him, but they no longer mattered. But they are your friends. No! He was finally getting what he wanted! The strength. The power.

That voice. No. Ignore it.
"Inuyasha don't do it!"
But it's her voice. But that doesn't matter. Something collided into his chest and a familiar scent washed over him. Kagome…
"I love you as a half demon Inuyasha!"
What? He fought back now, pushing the darkness away. Kagome…I- The darkness was fighting back now, forcing him to succumb to the power. His muscles seemed to act on their own, grabbing Kagome and sinking his claws into her arms. No, Kagome! Her soft whimper of pain was like a slap to the face. He fought back harder now, trying to push his demon half away. He was not going to be the one to harm Kagome. The darkness was crushing him though, and for a second he thought he was going to lose control.
Suddenly the softest of pressures fell onto his lips, resurrecting his human half. He wasn't quite sure how, but he swore he could hear her mind whispering. "Inuyasha you want to stay with me, don't you?"
He fought harder now, determined to find his way back to Kagome. His vision began to clear, his muscles relaxed and the need to kill faded away. He finally became fully aware of his surroundings; Kagome was still clutching his chest, her lips against his. He returned this kiss, wrapping his arms around the raven haired girl. Kagome pulled away, ending the kiss all too soon.
"Inuyasha … are you gonna be okay now?"
Hearing the crack in her voice nearly brought him to tears. He wrapped his arms more tightly around her, whispering her name like it was a lifeline.
"Are you nuts? I could've killed you."
She didn't respond, she simply just tightened her grip on his shirt.
"I'll stay a half demon a little while longer, just for you."
