"Ve~? Lorenzo, where did you go little bambino?" Italy walked through the flowered prairie alongside Romano as the hot summer sun shone down upon them.

"Ah, Feliciano can't we just go home! It's too damn hot!" Complained the southern half of Italy irritably.

"Of course not Romano! We can't just leave little fratellino out all by himself!" Italy cried.

"Whatever… I'm sure the kid is fine. He lives by himself anyway…" Romano grumbled under his breath. The two Italian brothers continued through the field in near silence, glancing around every few seconds trying to locate the wayward child. After a few more minutes of searching, Italy spotted a young auburn haired child toddling along, admiring a patch of blue flowers.

"Ve~! Filettino, don't run off like that again! Me and big brother Romano were worried about you!" Veneziano scolded lightly, picking up the small boy. Filettino blinked up at his older brothers innocently before giggling cheerfully.

"Si fratello! But what are these pretty flowers called?" He asked, motioning down to the blue floral mystery. Romano, who stood beside Italy, answered casually.

"I believe those are trumpet gentians."

"Oh really!? Wow! They're so pretty! Can we take some home? Please fratello?! I would love to give some to big brother Seborga for his birthday later this year too! Do you think we can come back then big brother? Can we, please?" The little micronation chirped eagerly, excited hazel eyes shining in the midafternoon light.

"Well, I don't know Lorenzo. These flowers typically only bloom in the summer, so you probably wouldn't find any here near Marcello's birthday…" Romano started.

Veneziano and Filettino's lower lips began to quiver in sync as they gave Romano their best puppy dog eyed expressions.

"Bastards…"

"Yay! Let's go home and eat some pasta!" Italy said, adjusting his hold on Lorenzo and making his way back home.

"Ah, I can't believe those two convinced me to do something for them again… I'm too soft on them, I think." Romano muttered, following after his younger brothers halfheartedly.

When they got back to Romano's house, Italy set Filettino down on the sofa and bounced into the kitchen to start preparing for dinner.

"Hey, big brother?" Asked Filettino softly, tugging on Romano's sleeve.

"Yeah, what is it? You wanna call Seborga and tell him about the fun day you had before we take you home?" Romano asked, sitting down next to him. Filettino shook his auburn haired head back and forth, before reaching into his little jacket's pocket and pulling out a small blue flower.

The ones from earlier...

"I picked this for you fratello." He handed the flower over, tentatively. Romano took it in his hand, turning it over in his fingers gently. He looked back up.

"Thank you, mi fratellino." He bent down and kissed Filettino's forehead, as the giggling micronation hugged him tightly in appreciation.

A/N: Sorry Seborga couldn't appear. I originally planned him to be in this one, but whatevs. Filettino is an Italian micronation in the Lazio region of Italy. It was a small town that refused to merge with a neighboring town, so in 2011 it became a micronation. Gosh, Filettino is so young! :D My human name for him is Lorenzo Vargas (I believe Lorenzo was a pretty popular name there in 2011, at least that's what the internet tells me).

I don't think anyone will need translations. Please review! :)
