It was just another normal school day for Julie who was a normal girl, a normal girl with completely abnormal friends.
Julie waved to someone in the distance.
"Hey, Kurt."
"Oh, hey Julie, why don't you come and sit with us."
"Uh, well, I guess."
Julie walked with Kurt to a nearbye table.
"Uh, hey guys."
All of the kids from the Exavior institute stopped talking and looked up.
"Hey Julie, how goes it?"
Julie looked, Shyly, at the boy.
"It goes good Bobby."
Then Roberto butted in.
"That's good, because we're all going to the park tomorrow and I was wondering if you would like to come?"
Julie went wide eyed then slightly worried.
"Well, would it be OK, since... you know... I'm not a mutant?"
Scott finished the conversation he had been having with Jean, about the weather, and said,
"Hell yeah, you're already practically part of the family."
"Yeah, if you suddenly got mutant powers you'd Professor X. would welcome you warmly as if he already knew you,"
Scott butted in.
"Which he does."
Everybody agreed.
Julie sighed.
"I just wish I did have some mutant powers."
AT JULIE'S HOUSE.
"OMG, I am so frickin bored!!"
She was holding a little dragon figurine.
"I wish with all my heart that you could talk to me."
She closed her eyes and imagined it talking to her, then...
"Hello master, I'm Steve."
Julie opened her eyes.
"What the hell was that?!"
"That, my master, is me talking."
Julie looked down at the dragon figurine in her hand and relized that it was what talking."
She screamed.
Then there was a voice from somewhere else in the house.
"Juliet, what was that?"
"Uh, nothing mom, just tripped."
There was silence then the dragon flew up in front of her face and spoke.
"Master?"
"Yes, little dragon thingy."
"Can we play a game?"
It took Julie a moment to process what the dragon had just said.
"You want to... play a game."
The dragon nodded.
Then Julie heard footsteps coming to her door.
"Oh great."
Julie wishpered to her self.
Then she thought of it.
She closed her eyes and imagined the liveing, breathing, talking dragon into a figurine.
She opened her eyes and sure enough, the dragon was a figurine again.
Just then her mother walked in.
"Julie, I've been hearing voices in here."
"Yeah, I've... uh... i've been practiceing a speech... for school."
Julie's mom nodded.
"Right, I'll leave you to it."
