A/N: Writing must be sort of therapeutic to me 'cos I can't seem to stop writing about AoS. Mainly the other's reactions about Ward's betrayal. So, I don't think this'll be the last AoS one-shot I write. And yes, this one-shot has more lyrics taken from McFly's "Lies" 'cos I can't stop listening to it. It reminds me so much of Ward and his betrayal and what's currently happening in AoS. Anyway, I hope you like it!

Never Gonna Make it Home.

So don't forget your seatbelt,
Don't you think of picking up the phone.
Better say your prayers 'cos you're never gonna make it home.

—"Lies", McFly.

Simmons was angry. She was furious at Ward for betraying them. She was furious at him for saving her, just to kill her now. She was furious at him for having Quinn shoot Skye in the stomach twice. She was furious at him for all the lies, the deceit, and the bloody murder attempts.

Attempts in plural. After all, wasn't he about to kill them? First Skye, now FitzSimmons. Skye had been right when she'd said he was murderer. He didn't just murder people. He murdered his friends. He murdered everyone around him. After them, what came next? Triplett? Coulson? May? She knew it would be harder for him to fight May. After all, S.H.I.E.L.D. might be dead, but May was still the Cavalry, she was still an amazing fighter.

Her anger made Fitz's hope irritating. In no way was Ward their friend anymore, and his hope of Ward being controlled was ridiculous to her. Some people are just evil. Ward was one of them. If she hadn't been so angry, so irritated, she would've felt heartbroken at his disappointed face, because she knew it was more than just disappointment.

But it just made her angrier. She and Fitz were practically the same person, and it was obvious to everyone else as well, hence why they were called FitzSimmons. In that moment, her pain and anger doubled.

But then, desperation filled her when she saw what Ward was doing. He was going to kill them after all. Their means to escape from Ward had just given them a coffin, another way for him to kill them. Simmons wasn't sure of how she wanted to die. What she did know was how she didn't want to die:

1) Falling to her death. After her almost-fall to death a few months earlier, she most definitely did not want to go through the same thing ever again.

2) Killed by a friend, or — most likely — a former friend.

It seemed she would die both ways, now.

The way you're heading
No one's getting out alive
