Prompt:The Big Night Out:Twilight; Jacob/Bella; "Do werewolves howl at the moon?"
(Takes place During New Moon)
Bella sat staring vacantly at her wall, she was miserable. Life without her stalker love of her life Edward was just not worth living. What was she suppose to do with herself without her lusty cold skinned boyfriend. Depressed and being utterly a defeatist she could not bring herself to read. She stared, her mind not holding a thought in the world like she always did.
The room was dark, might as well be since she did not care to look at anything, but the gentle glow of the rising moon floated into her room. A sharp knock at her door shocked her empty head out of its self-made misery. Looking toward the door she spoke.
"Come in if you must."
The door opened, and in walked her young and naive native American friend. "Don't sound so excited to see me Bella" he said.
"Oh. Jacob it is you." Bella said, letting out a sigh. Her life was just too empty without Edward to care.
"YOU need to get out of here. And we are going NOW." said Jacob.
"I would rather not, just the thought of going out and doing something mundane leaves me feeling even more bored" Bella stated.
"I don't care, I have tickets to a club opening in Seattle and we are going" Jacob said.
Next thing she knew Bella was being pulled up from her seat and dragged down the stairs.
Jacobs hand was warm, which reminded her of how much she missed Edwards cold hand on hers. She pulled her hand out of his 'Fine, I will go, but only after I water my cactus."
Pulling away Bella watered her cactus, the only thing that mattered in the world to her anymore without Edward. It reminded her of New Mexico.
5 hours later she and Jacob were walking out of the club he had taken her to. It was a club based on Jazz music. Bella thought it was stupid.
"Why did you ever take me to that thing? The music was droll, the crowd not worth being around." Bella stated, her eyes rolling in disgust and boredom.
"I had tickets" Stated Jacob, staring at Bella's brown hair and eyes, finding them beautiful. Glancing up as they walked he noticed the clouds parting. The moon was full. He felt a shiver go down his spine. It was beautiful.
"Look at the moon Bella, it is beautiful tonight" he said.
"I guess." She said. It was pale, and this made her miss the pale shade of Edwards skin.
Jacob howled at the moon playfully. Bella stopped and looked at him.
"Your being stupid, stop embarrassing me." she said.
"Why?" he asked. "Don't you ever wish you were a wolf and could howl at the moon?"
"No. Never. That is just boring and childish thing to think" Bella said and kept walking.
"Bella, do you think werewolves howl at the moon?" Jacob asked her as he followed her.
"Werewolves? I don't know if they even exist. Maybe." Bella said. She felt a tug at her hand and turned around to see what Jacob wanted.
"Bella," Jacob said staring into her eyes "What if werewolves were real?" he asked. He remembered the tales in his village and wondered if they were true.
"If they are, then I hope I never have to meet one." said Bella, tugging at a piece of her hair nervously. She already had to deal with vampires. Were wolves would just be one more annoyance on her life.
"I guess your right." replied Jacob. Letting go of her hand.
As they continued walking back to Jacob's car, he wished he really could howl at the moon. "Oh well" he thought to himself.
The End.
(I hope you enjoyed. I tried to capture Bella's personality, Jacob was harder for me.)
