i dont wanna be a stupid girl.

she never felt stupid around anyone.

"11:16" Cat was late, and that's when Jade remembered don't trust a naive girl. She tapped her foot impatiently, as the minutes ticked by. The harsh winds of L.A, moved her hair. Her fingers were numbed and ached, Jade needed adrenaline in her body, and the nearest coffee shop was 4 blocks away.

So she slid a pale hand into her jacket pocket and wrapped her fingers around the cigarette box. The rush of her first cigarette came all back to her, making her shake so she clutched on to the park bench near her for balance. Jade closed her eyes, grabbed the black litter in her other pocket, and smiled cynically.

She put the cigarette into her mouth and lit- a guy on a skateboard bumped into her knocking the cigarette out of her hand. Jade whipped her head around to glare viciously at the boy. "You know how much that cost me!" She yelled, it was more of a statement than a question. "Whoa, your welcome. I just saved you from lung cancer and death." He said, calmly unfazed by Jade's temper. "Maybe I wanted death." Jade said, crossing her arms. "Maybe we got off on the wrong foot, the names Beck Oliver." He said, putting his hand out to shake. "What makes you think I'll tell you my name?"

"Your name tag." He said, and honestly Jade felt stupid. No one was able to do that to her, it was weird. She tore the name tag off of her work shirt, and frowned.

"You're clever."

"Thanks, I try." He said flashing her a smile. She snorted and smashed her ruined cigarette with her boot.

"You're not that scary." He said taking a step towards her. Her breathing hitched and god there was that feeling again washing over her body.

"You're breathtaking." He whispered, his breath hot on her nose. He was so close, she almost thought he was going to kiss her. They stood like that for about a minute before he smiled at her and pulled out a paper and wrote his phone number. She tried to say something,

but she just felt so stupid around this, Beck guy.
