A/N: This my first fanfic ever. I have tons of stories in my head, but I'm too lazy to write them down. Maybe some day I will if someone actually likes this one, which has been dancing in my head for days now. I would love to know what you think. Constructive criticism is always nice.

HEADACHE

It had been a long week, in which the whole CSI nightshift team had pulled several double shifts and yet it wasn't time to go home. Nick was leaning against the counter in the conference room listening to Sara giving Grissom a step by step report of what she thought had happened. It was a high profile case in which the daughter of the mayor had been involved and they weren't allowed to go home until the last stone had been turned on this particular case. It had been approximately an half hour since Sara started her reconstruction. Nicks head was hurting. It was hurting bad and Sara was going on and on. Then he heard her stop talking.

"That's where I am stuck." He heard her say.

"How on earth did she get blood on her shirt when he was shot with an angle like that" Sara continued. "It just doesn't add up."

And then she continued about how it was impossible. He tried to filter her voice out, but there was something about the conversation which got his attention. Then it hit him. He knew how the victim's blood got on the shirt of the mayor's daughter.

By now his headache had become full blown and he was wondering how someone so smart could be so dumb sometimes. It was so obvious to him now. He looked to Grissom who looked just as confused as Sara.

Before he could think about it, he stepped forward. He grabbed Sara's arm, turned her around, put his arms around her, pulled her towards him and then he kissed her. In the back of his head he registered what he was doing. She did response fully now and he was surprised she didn't push him away and slap him, although she still could. Then he let go of her and said:"That's how the mayor's daughter got the victim's blood on her shirt."

The look on Grissom's face was priceless. Nick was surprised though that Sara looked so normal, so composed.

"Uh, uhm, I think you may have a point here Nicky", Grissom said as soon as he had composed himself. "I think you just solved the case."

Nick turned around to leave the conference room when he heard Grissom yell out to him. "Next time you can just tell us, no need to give a demonstration."

Sara who was just passing him whispered, "Oh yes you do, you can give me a demonstration any day". Then she winked at him, which didn't go unnoticed by Grissom. He looked even more shocked. And Nick looked like he just solved the most important case ever................
