Forgive Me
Remy sat in the Acolyte mansions large but sparsely furnished living room. He was sitting on the only sofa next to the phone. He looked down at it thinking of the conversation he had just had with his brother, well foster brother. He had been surprised to hear Henri's voice at the other end but he wasn't at all surprised to hear that Jean Luc had gotten himself into trouble. Again. Jean Luc had managed to get taken by the Rippers and no one had any idea where he could be. Remy pushed himself off of the sofa and up the stairs trying to think of a way to help his pere. He reached his room and went in. It was medium sized and sparsely furnished. He had a bed against the wall behind the door, a dresser by the door, a wardrobe and a desk opposite his bed. He walked over to the desk after closing the door and picked up a file. He flipped it open to the first page and smiled, the worries about his family momentarily forgotten, replaced by thoughts of a certain Southern belle. He thought back to last week and their encounter at the mall.
()() Flashback ()()
He was certain someone was following him, he just wasn't sure. He paused outside a sports shop and pretended to be absorbed in studying the trainers. He glanced to his left and right scanning the crowd. To his left, from the direction he had come, he saw a flash of a girl with auburn hair and white bangs and he grinned. So his stalker was one of the elusive x-girls. He swiftly walked on towards the exit knowing that she would follow. He walked outside and went to the side of the door, hidden from those walking out of the mall doors. He saw her exit a few seconds later, stop and look around. He recognized her as the power thief so he seized his chance and tried to talk to her but she hadn't wanted to talk. What she had wanted was to kiss him. Her lips had been soft and warm even through the thin material of her scarf, which prevented her powers from working. She had stopped and walked off saying "thanks for the kiss" in a soft husky voice. He had managed to recover quickly enough to press his calling card into her small-gloved hand as she walked away. He had watched her walk away with a huge smile on his face.

He smiled again, remembering how he had followed her ever since. He looked into the file in his hands. It contained everything that Magneto had on her and then some information he had added himself. He wondered again what it was about this fille that had enchanted him. She was beautiful, graceful, independent, confident and a million other things. But he was Remy LeBeau, the charmer and the flirter- not the one who was hooked so easily by a girl. He sighed dragging himself back to reality and his problem with his family. What am I going do, he thought, I don't even know where to find Jean Luc or how to. He glanced down at the open page as if it would provide the answer. His gaze settled on a line of writing. His eyes widened as he read it:
Mutant ability: Absorption of power, personality and memories through skin-to-skin contact.
He read it again to make sure his eyes weren't deceiving him. He sat down on the end of his bed, thinking. Here was a way for him to help his father but it would mean betraying Rogues trust. He wasn't sure if he could just ask her to help him but he needed her power. He dropped the file on the floor and flopped backwards onto his bed. In order to help a father he didn't care very much for he would have to use his chere, and that he didn't want to do. But he didn't want Jean-Luc to die because he was falling for someone he hardly knew. He rolled over with a groan as he decided what he must do. He would take Rogue but not tell her and pray that she never found out he was using her.
"Rogue please forgive me," he whispered.
