Kisame knows that Itachi does not take to just anyone.

Sometimes he wonders what Itachi thinks of him. He wonders if Itachi took to him. If Itachi thinks of him as more than just a useless nuisance. If the prodigy considers him a brother, or a father figure (hopefully not, Itachi killed his own father), a friend, or just a partner.

He knows Itachi thinks something of him, though, because Itachi allows him to sleep in the same room. Akatsuki members are allowed to have their own rooms, but Itachi never bothered to ask for his own. Itachi must trust Kisame at least a little because even on missions, he'll curl up into a ball against Kisame's side and fall asleep, although whether for safety or warmth is anyone's guess. There was also an instance that the two of them had to take a train ride for some mission or another, Kisame can't remember what it was and he doesn't care enough to ask Itachi, that Itachi had been slightly injured by something or someone. The Uchiha had closed his eyes and pressed his face to Kisame's arm, muttering something along the lines of 'You're warm'. He wasn't sure if that implied that Itachi trusted him, or that he was just eternally cold.

Kisame knows that Itachi needs someone to help him during the instances when his eyes give out after he's had to use the Mangekyo Sharingan. Someone has to help him around the base or the hotel room, or wherever they are, and someone has to protect him until he adjusts or his eyes recover. Kisame wonders if Itachi chose him to help because he was convenient as the closest person or because Itachi actually trusted him to take care of him.

Kisame knows that Itachi has, in fact, taken to him, or Kisame would have been long dead. As it stands, Kisame's just happy that Itachi has taken to him at all, and, thus, he doesn't mind being partner to the Uchiha Itachi, one of the coldest people alive.

A/N: Review. I command you! Itachi commands you!

Itaci: T.T I don't care at all.
