Chapter 1: Doubting her
Percy coughed as the burning liquid slid down his throat. He slurred to the bartender. "More. Give…" Percy paused to swallow, "me…more. More whiskey."
"But Percy, you've already had so much. I think you should stop."
"No! you fat, old, lug!" I want more whiskey!" Percy screamed like a five year old as the whole bar turned its attention to him. The bartender looked at Percy and sighed as he made him another drink. He slid the drink to Percy.
"One more. That's it." Percy grabbed it and chugged it down. "There's obviously something wrong. Why don't you tell me? It'll make you feel better." Percy looked at him skeptically. As if he was choosing whether to trust him or not.
"Fine…its my Fiancé. She gets me so frustrated."
"Fiancé huh? Congratulations."
"Yeah, Right. I don't think she's the one though."
"What do you mean?"
"I just don't feel that connection right now." Percy said dejectedly.
"Of course, you don't. You're drunk!"
"Well…yeah."
"Don't do anything you'll regret while your drunk. That's never a good thing." Percy looked at him and nodded. The door to the bar opened and in from the stormy night, stumbled a woman. She had long blond, curly hair down her back and tan skin. She had that perfect "California Girl" look. The only thing that was "offset" about her was her eyes. They were a stormy grey. As stormy as the night sky. She looked like she had walked for miles. Her grey eyes darted around the room, as if looking for someone. Her eyes landed on Percy's back and she slowly made her way toward him. She stood behind him, unaware of all the stares that she was receiving throughout the bar. She tapped his back and he spun sround so fast he fell off the chair. He would have hit the ground hard had the woman not caught him.
He looked up at her face and smiled, "Annabeth," She cringed as she was hit with he stench of alcohol on his breath.
"Hey, Percy." She set him back in the chair, "We need to go home."
"But I don't want to." Percy complained as he crossed his arms in front of him stubbornly.
"Percy, lets go." Annabeth growled warningly. He got the hint and followed her outside looking like a dog with his tail between his legs. She was surprised that he could walk at all, even if he walked in a zig-zaggy line, "Percy, lets just go home to get to sleep, okay?"
"Ok." Percy stopped in front of her, blocking her path. "or we could do something other than sleep." He wiggled his eyebrows in an unsuccessful attempt at seduction.
Annabeth cringed in disgust. "You're drunk and I don't want to, I'm tired."
"If I wasn't drunk would you do it?"
"No." Was all she replied before she dragged him to their apartment.
