Prologue: The Find.
~~Hiccups pov.~~
That day had started out like any other usual day on the Isle of Berk. The gang was doing their usual dragon racing and I occasionally participated, well when I say participated I mean I won. It had been a year since I lost Astrid to childbirth with our son following her to the after life shortly after to a horrible fever. I remember my mother telling me it wasnt my fault, but I don't feel like it wasn't. It had begun to drizzle rain by the time my mother and I began to take our usual flight around the island. It was the usual thing conversation wise being nothing more then lessons about dragons. It seemed it was going to be a regular day at the isle; that is until we rounded the northern corner of the island and spotted some a ship that was totally wrecked almost. My gods it was a viking ship from the looks of it, it mustve been in a pretty bad fight. The front end of the ship was almost completely broken off the middle and back end but it seemed to be held up by...swimming dragons!
I looked over at my mother who hurriedly had cloudjumper fly down to the ship wreckage. There had to be something important on that ship. I thought as Toothless flew me down to it just as my mother ran over to me. She had such an excited look on her face, "Come on hiccup! you'll never believe this!" she sounded like she was completely ecstatic about something which made me curious. I let her lead me around to where several dragons had been guarding...what...I couldn't believe my eyes! There right there! T-there was no way. A..another night fury! It was there! oh..it appeared to be sleeping and there appeared to be someone tucked under it's wing. This...This was the greatest discovery in dragon history!
Author's note:Its a bit short but hey its a prologue. Just testing the waters with this since its a new subject for me to be writing for. Read, review, etc. Chapter one A simple game of hide and seek will be coming soon.
