Ginny Weasley and Hermione Granger

This story will be the Harry Potter series from the POV's of Ginny and Hermione, except with some small changes that I think should have been part of the original series. This is my first fanfiction. For those who wonder how different the Philosophers Stone story might have been had Ginny been involved, you'll like this story.

Ginny and Hermione will be the same age in this story.

Chapter 1- Ginny

Ginny Molly Weasley chewed her lip as she looked outside longingly at her brothers playing Quidditch in the garden. She had been a massive fan of the sport her entire 11 years of life so far, supporting the Holyhead Harpies, the only all female team in the country. Her dream was to one day play for them, which is why she hated the fact that she had been consistently denied the chance to be allowed to play with her brothers outside.

It was not all bad though. 5 years earlier she had decided that she wasn't going to accept that flying and playing Quidditch was too dangerous for her, she was going to find a way to do it, even if it involved being sneaky. So she began a habit of waking up in the middle of the night and breaking into the broom shed in the back garden to get a broom and their quidditch equipment and practice with them. This had proved to be a great success, and Ginny now believed she was just as good as flying and playing the sport, if not better, than any of her brothers. She just wished she could somehow get a chance to prove it.

Her older brothers were Bill, Charlie, Percy, Fred, George and Ron, the latter of which she was the same age as, and would be joining at Hogwarts for their first year the coming September. Ginny was very excited for this. The former 2 were at work, Charlie in Romania with dragons, and Bill in Egypt working as a curse breaker for Gringotts Wizarding Bank.

She had been looking forward to Hogwarts for as long as she had been alive, and was so jealous of her brothers for being able to go there without her for so long. Now she would be finally able to join them and see all the wonders the school had to offer for herself.

Ginny then heard her mother calling her downstairs for lunch, so she headed down, not expecting anything significant to arise from it.

But during the meal, something that she had always wanted to happen finally did. "Boys" said her mother, "I've been thinking recently, and I've decided that Ginny is old enough to be allowed to play Quidditch with the lot of you". There was instant uproar from the table. "No she isn't old enough!" yelled Fred and George at the same time, "Are you mental?", said Ron, she doesn't even know how to fly, she'll fall off her broom and get hurt" . That comment angered Ginny, though she knew better than to intervene, so she bit her lip and kept silent. "Enough!" said her mother. "You will all allow her to play with you this afternoon- that is, if she wants to of course, you do, don't you dear?". Ginny kept her teeth clamped over her lip. Yes, she really did want to play with them, but she hadn't wanted it to be in this sort of way, where they'd be all reluctant and angry about it, and not being too keen on playing their best because they were unhappy about it. But she realised this was going to be a better chance than she ever had before, and the longer she deliberated, the more likely it was that her mother would change her mind. She may even impress them with her skills.

"Yes of course!" she replied enthusiastically.

Annoyed, but knowing there was nothing they could do to change the situation, her brothers finished the rest of their food in silence, then reluctantly took Ginny outside. Ginny suddenly felt nerves set in, and she started chewing her lip again. What if she messed up, despite all her secret practice over the years? What if she made herself look like a fool in front of all her brothers, and gave them and her mother a reason to never let her play again?

"You ok Ginny?" said Fred, moving to stand directly in front of her. This snapped her out of her thoughts. "Yes, let's start", she said determinately. She had to let them show her how to kick off from the ground on a broom and explain to her the rules, even though she knew them all perfectly well. Telling them this though would blow her cover, so she let them finish without interrupting.

George passed her one of the family's spare, ancient Shooting Stars and told her she would be playing Chaser for this game. Ginny could hardly believe her luck at this, as Chaser was her favourite position. They were all in position on the ground, about to begin. Ginny chewed her lip and concentrated. She knew what she had to do. She had not had a chance like this in her life so far. This was her moment to show her brothers what she was really made of…..
