Simple & Clean… and defective?
Kingdom Hearts
Chapter 1
The swirling vortex of doom
I cannot even begin to tell you how mundane and boring summer break is for me. While other students get to go party and have fun- I sit inside, do chores… and sleep. I'm not much for socialization or the whole people thing, but I am nice to people, I just don't get too involved, it causes drama and boy isn't my life filled with enough already? Oh, forgive me… my name is Kayla, I'm 16 and… have I mentioned I'm bored? My friend is going away to Massachusetts for the summer, which pretty much leaves me completely bored and alone, but hey, what do I have to do?
…and it was precisely at this point I realized I had a few video games sitting and collecting dust underneath my television next to my old CD player.
Sitting on the floor of my recently cleaned room, I reached under and grabbed the stack, looking through the games. Final Fantasy X… boring… Final Fantasy X2… bunch of big breasted girls jumping around…. Extremely redundant and did I mention- BORING? Then it hit me as I picked up the case to Kingdom Hearts. I had one last game to play- I hadn't played it for three years because I had gotten frustrated and lost in Alice in Wonderland- I didn't know how to leave, and thus gave up my search and left the game to collect dust with the rest of my video game collection. I had enjoyed playing it though! I opened the case, and popped the game into my Playstation two, to have the oceanic like music greet my ears as the menu brought the darkened screen to life.
3 weeks later.
As it turned out, I am a complete retard due to the fact I didn't know you could board the Gummi ship from the save point… I thought there was a world exit of some sort that I had to find in order to leave. What!? There was one in Traverse town! AND Olympus! Needless to say, after three weeks of staying up all night until maybe… 4AM with a stupid guide book by my side… (yes, I have the balls to admit it, I used a guide when I got stuck) I have finally beat Kingdom Hearts! After three- what four years??? It is 1:06AM and I finally get to watch the final scene, the graphics are absolutely beautiful… perhaps there is an extra after the credits… I cannot wait to get Kingdom Hearts 2! The game cover has popped onto the screen with the ending title "The End". I still cannot believe it! It took me 16 years to beat my first video game! Man, am I lame, or what? I shuffle off of my bed to turn off the Playstation, still in some form of shock. Walking over I pause hearing a slight vibration… I shrug it off, it's more than likely my telephone anyway, I jammed it underneath my pillow on accident, and that would be when it happened… the swirling vortex of doom appeared onto the television screen and the next thing I knew I was gone. I don't think we're in Kansas anymore, toto.
