"No, Draco!" Hermione yelled as she bolted out of bed, and fell onto the ground. Hermione had another nightmare about Draco, except this one was far worse, Hermione rubbed her back as she got up.
Draco came into the room as he was tying his tie. "You all right, Granger?" Draco asked.
"Yeah, I just had a dream that something really bad happened to you," Hermione said sheepishly.
"Well, Granger you don't have to worry, I'm fine," the blonde said, beginning to smirk.
"I can see that, Draco," said Hermione. "What time is it?" she asked
"It's almost eight. I didn't want to wake you up, because I wanted you to sleep a little longer," Draco said, finishing tying his tie, although it was a little messy.
"Bloody hell, I'm going to be late!" Hermione shrieked, as she hurried into their closet to change out of her pajamas. Draco repressed the urge to laugh at Hermione.
"Oh don't worry, Granger you're never late," Draco said.
"That's because I wake up early, Malfoy," Hermione retorted.
"Oh, so back to Malfoy now are we?" Draco teased.
"Shut up," Hermione said slightly irritable.
Draco smirked as Hermione came out of their closet in crimson colored robes. "Your tie is messed up," Hermione stated as she walked up to, Malfoy, and began to fix it for him. "Honestly can't you tie a tie?"
"I've gotten better at it, Granger," Draco said.
"And I'm proud of you for it" Hermione said with a smile. Hermione tightened his tie a little bit and then headed into their kitchen to grab some breakfast.
"Y'know, Blaise and I have a lead. We're going to follow this ex-death eater, Vincent Adams," Draco said. Hermione paused felling like she's heard the name before, but she could not place where she's heard it from.
"Maybe you should skip out on work today, Malfoy," Hermione suggested.
"Why? This is a really good lead," Draco said.
"Yes, I know you told me, but it might be too good to be true," Hermione cautioned.
"Well even if it is, I can take care of myself," Draco said.
"I'm just looking out for you, Malfoy."
"I know, but I'm a grown man. Merlins sake, Granger I can handle one death eater," Draco countered.
"Well, what if it's more than one. What if it's ten death eaters?" Hermione questioned.
"I'll have Blaise with me, and we'll call for back up, don't worry, Granger," answered Draco.
"I still think you should skip out to be safe," Hermione said
"Well, you and I both know that's not going to happen," Draco said. "I've got to get going, Granger," Draco added, as he started heading towards the door
"I love you," Hermione blurted out. Draco was quiet for a couple of moments.
Draco approached Hermione, and he pulled her close to him, and gave her a kiss on the forehead. "Don't worry, Granger," Draco said, kissing her on the lips. "I'll be fine," Draco added smirking. He pulled away and headed out the door.
"Be careful!" Hermione called out
"I will, Granger," Draco said, and then he was gone.
Hermione stood there for a moment then looked at her watch, "Oh bloody.. Merlin," Hermione mumbled as she grabbed her stuff, and an apple to take with her to go to work.
It was around noon when Hermione heard a knock on her office door.
"Come in," Hermione called out as she was filing through some of her papers. Theodore Nott entered Hermione's office, panting.
"Granger..." Nott paused, so he could gather his breath, which alarmed Hermione, "Granger, you need to come with me," Nott finished.
"What's wrong, Nott is everything alright?" Hermione said, in a worried tone.
"I can't say right now, Granger," Theodore answered. "Will you just come with me," he added.
"No, I will not move if you don't tell me what's going on," Hermione said, not moving an inch away from her desk
"For Christs sake, Granger would you just get off your fucking arse, I was told to come get you. There's been a bloody accident," Theodore said, his voice striking an urgent tone.
Hermione got up, and left with Theodore. "Where are we going, Nott?" Hermione asked
"St. Mungos," Theodore said, as they hurried down the hallway to get to the elevator.
"What's happened, Nott?" Hermione asked with worried tone.
"I don't think I should tell you right here, Granger," Theodore said as they entered the elevator.
"Why?" Hermione asked.
"I'll tell you when we get to St. Mungo's, all right, Granger?" Theodore said.
"No, I want to know now," Hermione demanded, but Theodore didn't reply, because he knew that Hermione would just keep on asking, and he'd have to keep on telling her no. Occasionally Hermione would ask but Theodore refused to reply to her, which irritated Hermione, because she didn't like not knowing something.
Theodore and Hermione got off the elevator, and started heading to the floo network. Once they got there, they headed to St. Mungos. Hermione had gotten there before Theodore had and once he got there she began asking. "What in the hell is going on, Nott?"
"I think you should sit down, Granger," Nott said brushing himself off.
"No, just tell me what's going on!" Hermione demanded loudly, but this didn't faze Theodore.
"Granger, just sit and calm down" Theodore said.
"No, Nott! Just tell me what's going on!" Hermione demanded again.
"Don't raise your voice at me like that, Granger," Theodore warned.
"Why not? You pull me out of work on my lunch break telling me there has been a bloody accident, and you refuse to tell me what's happened!" Hermione said very agitated.
"All right fine I'll tell you!" Theodore said, raising his voice. "Draco and Blaise were ambushed this morning by a bunch of ex-death eaters, and they're both in critical condition."
Hermione's eyes grew wide, she couldn't move. It was like she was paralyzed, Theodore was still talking, but Hermione didn't hear a word he was saying. His mouth was just moving noiselessly. She felt weak in the knees, like she was going to collapse. This can't be happening, not here, not now. "Granger," Theodore called out, but Hermione didn't say anything. Then she collapsed in the middle of St. Mungos waiting room.
A/N: Okay I'm retyping this whole story except chapter three, because my writing is really illiterate, and it's embarrassing. So chapter two going to be redone, and I think it'll be up in a couple of weeks.
