Author's Notes: This fanwork of mine is based off the latest Vampire Miyu manga books that have been very recently released in Japan. They incorperate elements from the original manga, the OAVs, the Shin Vampire Miyu saga, and the TV series. Narumi has done a wonderful job on these, and the art is simply exquisite. I very much admire they way she and Hirano-sensei nearly seamlessly combined the aforementioned elements from all the different varieties of the series into these new stories. There are currently seven volumes out, but I got mine in Japan...so I am not sure how many are avaliable through dealers her in America. If you see them, you must read them! Miyu and Lava's relationship is made much more apparent. *^^* This is just my version of how the series could end. I love happy endings. Mou..

The aftermath had been excrutiatingly tedious to clean up after; as fulfilling as the completed duty may have been. It had taken over a decade now to simply scourge their territory or the last remaining few, but to them this was no time at all, of course. What was time, persay? They had been bound to eternity for hundreds of long years. But now it was finally over.
The last few had been the most difficult. Reiha, Carlua, Remuresu and Lilith. Ranka had gone back to the depths of the darkness peacefully...gracefully, as any self-respecting second-layer Kanshisha would do. And now they were alone...together. Alone.
"Lava.."
"Hai?"
"Shinpai desu ka?"
"Iie. I have you."
The golden-eyed girl giggled happily, nuzzling down into the handsome, baby-blue-haired bishounen's strong arms. He welcomed her warmly, enfolding her towards him, taught against his muscular chest. From a human's point of view, the visual would be an overwhelming aesthetic pleasure. A girl so beautiful she would be nothing less than a goddess, and a man so exquisite in features and build that description in words would fail completely to flatter him. The absolute love was apparent. These two shared a bond which no outer force could deter. Love? Oh, much more than that. Their relationship would be the highest definition of the word.
"Is it over now, Lava?" The small, nymph-like Princess inquired, gazing up into her lover/companion/best friend's ruby-coloured eyes. Closure. She knew it was true, that the task was accomplished, but she needed him to tell her just..one more time. Tell me again. Tell me again...
"Yes." He smiled down at her; a warm, loving smile. Relief. The task was finally done.
"The seal on my parents is broken then?" A sudden, worried expression darkened her flawless, porcelin face.
"Yes. It is." He reassuringly held her tighter, running his long, sharp, scarlet nails through her silkly auburn hair.
"We have been waiting so long for this, Lava....we can finally exist in peace; undisturbed tranquility. A normal life, with my parents, and you Lava. This body can resume aging. We can be together until we both return to the darkness...a naturnal darkness." She smiled, a bright, inviting smile full of promise. The varity of smile that ensures hope. The type of smile he had never seen cross her lovely face before. He smiled back...then laughed! It was true. They would continue their lives as a Vampire Princess and her Shinma lover, but they could live as a normal human couple if they wished. Their descendants would be the next guardians, to protect the Gate. But right now...right now peace was theirs, and they had eachother. A promising future in itself. That was all that mattered.
