Thanksgiving

Benton was sitting in his office at the Canadian Consulate at his desk making his report on the day's events. He was in the middle of explaining how he became on the ledge of the blank when his phone rang.

"Canadian Consulate, Constable Benton Fraser speaking, how may I help you?" he answered.

"Hey, Benny, it's Ray," the voice on the other line stated, "I was wondering if you had any plans tonight for dinner?"

"No, I don't," Benton answered.

"That's great," Ray replied, "Ma wanted you to come home to have Thanksgiving dinner with us. What do you say?"

"I accept the invitation."

"Great! I'll pick you up at 7:00."

"See you then, Ray."

They hung up and Benton looked at the clock on the wall. Hmmm, 6:30, I should have just the right amount of time to finish this report; he thought and went quickly back to work.

-7:00-

Ray rushed into the Consulate not wanting to be late for dinner.

"Benny!" he called into the deserted building. The office door closest to the stairs opened and Deif bounded out following close behind was Benton.

"The Wolf can't come," Ray stated pointedly.

"I know that, you know that, but he doesn't know that," Benton smiled, "he thinks he has the night out on the town by himself. He doesn't know where I'm going."

"Good because I won't have him ruining Thanksgiving like he did last year."

"Well, it wasn't his fault that he didn't know that we were saying grace. All he knew that he was hungry so he jumped on the table."

"HE ATE MY FOOD, BENNY!"

"He ate everyone's food, Ray."

"Oh, come on let's go eat I've been fasting all day waiting for this moment." They walked out into the freezing cold to Ray's RIV. Deif bounded out of sight and the two men went to go eat Thanksgiving in peace…without the wolf.

-Ray's house-

They got their right on time and just finished stuffing themselves when it was time to go. Benton said goodbye to the family that had become his and thanked Mrs. Veccio for the lovely dinner. He then walked home to walk off all the fat.
