Lucy Messer Brennan clutched her large purse closer to her body as she made her way through the World Trade Center Memorial grounds. She normally kept her purse as close as possible to her anyway, but today she was carrying something invaluable and wanted to be absolutely certain that nothing happened to it.

Before he passed away a few weeks ago, her godfather, Mac Taylor, requested that Lucy visit the site and perform what was, if not illegal, at least possibly violated some health codes. Lucy laughed softly at the thought of Uncle Mac, Mister Straight and Narrow himself, making such a request.

If it wasn't for the drugs coursing through him during the last few weeks of his life affecting his rationality, he probably wouldn't have made such a request in the first place. However, rational or not, it was his final request and Lucy was willing to risk any penalty or punishment for it.

When she reached the North Pool, Lucy looked around to make sure she wasn't being watched. She then opened her purse and took out a jar. She unscrewed the top and emptied its contents into the pool.

"There you are, Uncle Mac," the young woman whispered as the ashes started to spread. "Together with Aunt Claire forever."
