This is an edit. As one of my very good fans pointed out, I needed to change either the story or the character, in not so many words, but let's see how this works this time. Previously called 'Enough', here's the edit.
Sweet little ball of fluff for all you fluff-lovers out there. Well, here's my first Ryohei x Chrome like ever. Enjoy? And don't forget to rate and review the (currently, I hope) one and only Gokudera x Hana fic in existence on this site! R&R for both? Many thanks!
DISCLAIMER: I do not own KHR or Ryohei and Haru; I only wrote the plot!
"Enough already, Chrome," he said stopping her in mid-sentence with a step forward, "I've heard that excuse a dozen times this week and the one before it at least a thousand times more. I don't want to do this any more..."
He raised a hand to her cheek and smiled at her slightly parted lips then his deep gray eyes rose to meet her purple one. He'd lost himself in that gaze more times than he cared to count and now, he was going to do something about it.
"I can't keep dancing around the feelings I have for you because of fear. I'm never scared, not really, and I don't want to start being scared now."
His voice lowered significantly and he smiled at seeing her cheeks grow pink.
"Ryohei..." she whispered. She said no more. He smiled once more. Then his hands brought her face to his and his lips oh so gently grazed hers. Her eyes fluttered shut and opened again as he pulled away. She very nearly whimpered in protest.
He chuckled this time as he bent to kiss her properly. His lips met with hers and it was like the stars had moved to shine behind her eyes as her senses buzzed, each exploding into new life... His arms held her fast and she was grateful for she was sure her legs would betray her and let her fall.
The world seemed to tilt endlessly as his tongue brushed her lips and eventually slipped through them. She did whimper this time, but she didn't want him to stop, not just yet. Not when her senses seemed to be acting of their own accord and were drowning her in sweet passionate oblivion.
Her heart thundered in her chest and she heard the pounding in her ears; so loud she couldn't tell if he could hear it or not. She could taste him; brandy and something she felt was distinctly him. She could smell him; a spicy aftershave that she rather liked. She could feel him; his calloused hands ran down her back and even with the barrier of her clothes, she shivered and her hands, emboldened by the new sensations playing havoc in her body had reached up to run through his mess of silver hair, and it all felt so wonderfully, wickedly perfect.
For years she had lived with the Vongola guardians and seen their love-lives crumble and rebuild, but she had never once even imagined what this might feel like. She hadn't been kissed before. Not once in the ten years since she had joined the Vongola had she imagined she would be in this situation. But Mukuro's was free and had left her with a broken heart. He had scarred her without knowing (or he probably did but didn't care) and she had felt inadequate ever since. She had no purpose being in the Vongola, save for strengthening Mukuro's illusions. She had never felt as if she would be enough for anyone...
Ryohei pulled away and saw the satisfied smile now playing on her lips. He moved to kiss the corners of that smile and sighed. He was glad that the first time he trusted his heart, it had led him the right way. He tightened his hold on her and smiled as he kissed her dark blue hair. They didn't need anything else and wouldn't for a while because in that one moment, just having each other was enough.
