Just thought I'd try and start off here with a nice, non-controversial tidbit...
Well...at least I'm pretty sure it's non-controversial.
Honor
Disclaimer: Sadly my stick figures aren't going to be mistaken for professional manga anytime soon.
"Honor is dead!" the men who call themselves pirates laugh as they pillage the towns, rape and burn and loot. "Dreams are dead!" they shout to one another, raise their glasses to it and drink themselves in stages down to sodden heaps on the floor.
Mihawk would have believed them. In this world without the rule of a pirate king, even he begins to feel that he can no longer afford to show honor when it has been shot it pieces, stabbed in the back and trampled under foot.
Except that he has seen honor - and it is alive and well in the faces of two men. And so he waits, and for the first time in his life as he drifts he hopes, and waits for one of those men to come and raise his own honor yet higher so that all men may see it and know that honor still lives.
