I could feel the power leave As I gave that lizard my last heave
And now my mission is complete
I have accomplished that impossible feat.
Now I'm falling down into space
I glance up in the glowing hedgehog's face
So this is it, this is the end
And the last thing I see is one I called 'friend'
He reaches his hand and tried to save
Me from my impending, burning grave
But I won't reach back up for I did succeed
In doing my purpose, my only deed
My vision is fading and turning all glazed
As I suddenly slip back into a daze
In all of the fog I see Maria's face
And this time I can look without feeling disgrace
I did what you wanted, I know you are proud
I saved all those people staring up from the ground
I saved them for you for that's what you asked
I gave it my all, I fought to the last
I here Sonic calling, trying to grab at my hand
But he just manages to remove that bright golden band
But I'm glad for that, now he has a memory
Of what I did for him, and what they did for me
I can feel all the pressure as I fall to my grave
The last note fades out as he calls out my name
Suddenly I feel as if I'm in clouds
And Maria, I'm with you, forever and now.
