Lightening Bolt Moment

When people see me and Alec together, the automatically presume we fell in love at first sight. It's because we're so mushy and sweet. People assume that we just had that lightening-bolt moment. But that's so not what happened. Quite the opposite actually; we hated each other.

From the moment he walked into my life – quite literally – he has always been cocky. Put in a cell with a snarky bitch, well, it was like putting sparks near gasoline; sooner or later it's gonna blow up in our face. We just clashed.

It didn't help matters that he hung around me 24/7. He's at work, Crash, Terminal City, even the Space Needle. I couldn't stand that perfect arrogant face.

Then gradually, our painful – not only on his part – fist fights turned to playful verbal banter and then one day we were kissing. We were at my apartment, arguing over Monopoly property and Alec was being so misguidedly impassioned that I just had to kiss him. And here's the shocking part; he kissed me back.

After that, I think we just grew onto each other.
