TITLE: By Complaining
AUTHOR: Bastet (gwyliane@yahoo.com)
SUMMARY: 100-word drabble after the Shrieking Shack scene in POA. If I told you anymore this summary would be longer than the actual fic.
RATING: G
ARCHIVE: Just tell me where it's going.
NOTES: I actually *have* been working on "Phases." Just want to work on it a little more before I post. This just came to me when I was reading the SBRL archives @ yahoogroups. The title is from the song "Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head" (you know, from Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid) from the line "I'm never gonna stop the rain by complaining..."
"Are you all right?" she asks.
Sitting on a park bench in the pouring rain, and he doesn't know her but she must be dreadfully uninformed not to have seen his picture somewhere before. He thinks about her question - remembers the way Remus forgave thirteen years of pain and held him, remembers Hermione calling him "Mr. Black;" she and Ron forgetting about their own safety for that boy who looks like James but has Lily's emerald eyes.
Maybe he doesn't look quite the same as he did in the paper, after all. "I'm fine," he tells her, and he smiles.
