Dean in a library...the mind boggles.

Research – Always a Treat

By Swellison

Dean finished perusing another microfiche of newsprint. Sighing, he left-handedly pulled the tray out from the reader, keeping his ACE bandaged right forearm resting on the table as promised.

He pocketed the fiche and extracted a new one, positioning it on the tray. He slid it in place, glad the reader's front knobs were left-hand accessible. Although decades old, the reader was virtually dust-free. The Columbia Public Library looked after its equipment as carefully as its patrons.

Dean's phone chirped. "Yeah, Sammy?"

"Find anything?"

"Not yet. You?"

"Nothing substantial. Wanna break for lunch?"

Dean's stomach rumbled.

"Guess that's a yes."

A/N Happy Birthday to NewspaperTaxis! Thank you for all the kind reviews! I chopped the heck out of this, it was originally over 150 words. Hope it still makes sense. It's also a drabble-ized missing scene to my story "Driven" if anyone wants to know how Dean hurt his arm, or what the boys are researching;-)
