Summary: Eijun has a restless night after realizing his feelings for a certain catcher.

Disclaimer: Daiya no A is owned by Terajima Yuuji.

This was just a quick drabble to get back into writing! I might write a companion piece from Miyuki's side sometime~

Sigh.

The young boy rolled onto his side with a huff, mind racing far too fast to stop and worry about the continuous ticking of the clock. Despite the exhaustion drilled into his body from harsh practice, it was clear he was getting no sleep while his mind went on endless auto-pilot. No matter how hard he tried, that stupid image of him always found a way to slip in.

"ARGH!" The youth cried in frustration, pulling furiously at his hair in an attempt to rid his head of the thoughts.

"Shut it, Sawamura!" An agitated and tired voice groaned from above him.

"S-sorry..." He let out another sigh and softly pulled the blankets over his head. Why is it so hard to get that bastard's smug face out of my head, dammit!

It was unfair! That annoying cheeky grin of his, those mocking eyes accompanied by an irritating laugh, the infuriatingly good looks...! Just what was it about those features that were robbing him of his precious sleep?!

He huffed with more force and turned to his other side. Sneaking a quick glance at the clock he groaned. Practice tomorrow would be killer if he couldn't manage to get in a wink of sleep. It wasn't like he enjoyed being accompanied throughout the quiet night by thoughts of that snarky bastard.

Yet, there was something about the way that catcher encouraged the boy in his own roundabout fashion, the way he put faith into the younger one's pitching, the way he-dammit there it goes again! Why can't I just sleep!

Pulling at his hair again, he shut his eyes and exhaled slowly. Having a one-track mind was really counterproductive in times like these. Asking for a good night's rest after realizing his feelings was just too impossible a feat; denying it only increased his restlessness.

Damn you, he thought, conceding to the fact that trying any longer was hopeless. You stupid bastard, Miyuki Kazuya!
